Report: Roma want to renew with Zaniolo

Roma are planning to offer Nicolò Zaniolo new terms at the Olimpico, after the injured attacker reportedly met with new patron Dan Friedkin.

Sky Sport Italia reveals the Italy international, who ruptured his ACL during Italy’s 1-0 win against Holland in the Nations League last month, met with the new owner in secrecy.

Friedkin reportedly told the 21-year-old he ‘will come back stronger than before’ and reassured the former Inter youth that he will be offered a new deal as soon as a new sporting director is in place at Trigoria.

Agent: 'All the top clubs wanted Zaniolo'

Agent Claudio Vigorelli said ‘all the top clubs were interested’ in Roma attacker Nicolò Zaniolo, who aims to be back in time for Euro 2020.

The former Inter player moved to Roma in July 2018 and has established himself in the starting XI when he injured the ACL in his right knee against Juventus in January.

He recovered towards the end of the postponed 2019-20 season but suffered another ACL rupture, this time in the left knee, against the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League last month.

Roma: 'Zaniolo not rushed back'

Amid reports Nicolò Zaniolo will be out of action for nine months, Roma chief medic Federico Manara warns there will be ‘no pressure’ to rush his recovery, nor was he hurried along the first time.

The 21-year-old had only just returned after snapping the anterior cruciate ligament in January, then suffered the exact same injury to the other knee while on international duty last week.

Zaniolo: 'The countdown begins'

Nicolò Zaniolo sent a message to the Roma fans from the hospital bed. ‘Thanks to you, it has been less difficult’.

The attacking midfielder underwent surgery in Innsbruck, Austria, today. The intervention in the left knee was successful and the attacking midfielder starts a similar journey to the one he already went through in the second half of the 2019-20 campaign.

After having ruptured the ACL in the right knee against Juventus in January, the youngster suffered another ACL injury in his left knee against Holland in the UEFA Nations League.

Successful surgery for Zaniolo

Roma forward Nicolò Zaniolo underwent a successful intervention in the left knee in Austria today.

Sky Sport Italia confirms the Italy international, who ruptured his ACL in the Azzurri’s 1-0 win against Holland in the UEFA Nations League, was operated by Professor Christian Fink in Innsbruck.

The surgery was perfectly successful, and the rehabilitation period starts from today.

Zaniolo knows it will require time and patience, after having recently recovered from a similar ACL rupture in the right knee.

Prof. Mariani: 'Zaniolo's ACL injury not a coincidence'

Professor Pier Paolo Mariani, who operated Nicolò Zaniolo’s right knee, reveals the Roma forward had a ‘certain predisposition’ for ACL injuries.

Zaniolo injured his left ACL during Italy’s 1-0 win against Holland in the UEFA Nations League on Monday and the doctor who operated his last ACL rupture in January explained ‘it’s not a coincidence’.

“It didn’t happen to the knee operated on by me, but to the other,” Mariani told Corriere dello Sport. “But it’s not a coincidence.

Roma remove Under from Milik talks

Napoli have reportedly dropped the asking price for Arkadiusz Milik to €35m, as Roma are no longer offering Cengiz Under as part of the deal.

Nicolò Zaniolo’s knee injury and Edin Dzeko seemingly rejecting proposals from Juventus and Inter are two events that transformed their transfer strategy.

It means Under and Dzeko are now expected to remain, so talks that had been to swap the Turkey international plus cash for Milik have changed.

Zaniolo feared he was 'cursed'

Roma star Nicolò Zaniolo was initially so upset at the new ACL injury that he ‘wanted to quit football,’ reveals his mother, and feared he’d been ‘cursed.’
