Chiellini injury not serious

There is good news for Juventus captain Giorgio Chiellini, as tests ruled out muscular lesions, so his injury is not serious.

The defender limped off during last night’s 2-0 Champions League victory away to Dynamo Kiev.

There had been concerns he might’ve pulled a hamstring or suffered a thigh strain.

However, a statement released this afternoon by the club confirms there were no muscular lesions.

It means his condition will be evaluated on a daily basis and he is expected to be out for 7-10 days.

“I put myself at the disposal of the coach and did what he asked, which was to stay wide and take my man on when I had the ball,” Chiesa told Sky Sport Italia.
