Balotelli on way to Marseille

Mario Balotelli has reportedly left his rented home in Nice and is preparing to move his belongings to Marseille.

According to Nice-Matin newspaper, the Italy international’s transfer to Olympique Marseille is imminent.

That is because he has left the home he was renting in Villefrance-sur-Mer and put part of his belongings into a storage facility in Nice.

The preparations are in full swing for a move of home and club towards Marseille.

Balotelli agrees Marseille terms?

Despite French reports of salary issues, Italian media insist Mario Balotelli will eventually sign for Olympique Marseille.

The 28-year-old is set to leave Nice, where he has been frozen out after the breakdown of his rapport with teammates and Coach Patrick Vieira.

His contract is due to expire in June anyway, so it could simply be terminated by mutual consent early.

L’Equipe reported today that the negotiations with Marseille were in trouble, as he requested a salary worth €5m per year.

Lapadula offered to Marseille

Olympique Marseille turned down the chance to sign Genoa outcast Gianluca Lapadula, according to reports in France.

The centre-forward turns 29 next month and has made only one substitute appearance this season in Serie A, scoring in his only Coppa Italia showing.

Purchased from Milan in 2017 for €13m, he is no longer part of the Grifone’s plans, so RMC Sport and Telefoot claim his agent offered him to Marseille.

However, Rudi Garcia’s club were not interested and remain in negotiations for fellow Italian Mario Balotelli.

As talks with Olympique Marseille break down, it’s rumoured Mario Balotelli has been offered to Parma, Sampdoria, Bologna and Sassuolo.

The striker has been frozen out at Nice after a series of rows with Coach Patrick Vieira and is ready to terminate his contract six months early by mutual consent.

He already had a medical at Marseille over the summer before the two clubs failed to agree a transfer fee.

A reunion was widely expected, but now Rai Sport and Tuttosport suggest the situation has changed due to Marseille’s disastrous form.

Balotelli to Marseille in doubt?

Mario Balotelli’s transfer to Olympique Marseille could be put back into doubt, as Coach Rudi Garcia is on the verge of the sack.

He had been all set for Marseille, but the situation is in flux after today’s shock 2-0 defeat to fourth division amateur side ASF Andrezieux-Boutheon.

‘EDF didn’t believe in Strootman’

Kevin Strootman’s agent explains the midfielder moved to Marseille because “he no longer had the trust” of Roma Coach Eusebio Di Francesco.

The Dutchman was sold by the Giallorossi this summer, along with Radja Nainggolan and Alisson, prompting a backlash from fans.

“He he no longer had the trust of Di Francesco,” Kevin Lefranc told calciomercato.it.

“So we found a new project for him at Marseille. Kevin was very happy with the atmosphere and the conditions offered by the French club.”
