Lazio fans threatened in Marseille

It’s claimed two pig heads were impaled on the gates of a hotel where Lazio fans are staying in Marseille.

There were clashes between the two sets of supporters last night, with two Italians and one Frenchman sustaining minor injuries.

According to local newspaper La Provence, the tensions have been exacerbated by political differences, as Lazio have a far-right fringe among their support and the Marseille ultras are known for their anti-fascist ideology.

Lazio fans clash with Marseille

Two Lazio fans and one Marseille supporter were injured, after fighting in the street ahead of tonight’s Europa League match.

The Biancocelesti face former Roma boss Rudi Garcia at the Stade Velodrome tonight, with kick-off at 20.00 UK time.

According to La Provence, skirmishes erupted last night between fans of the two teams.

The newspaper notes that Lazio have a fringe of far-right fans, while supporters of l’OM are militantly anti-fascist.

Inzaghi: 'Lazio doubts in Marseille'

Marseille Coach Rudi Garcia admits “we absolutely have to win” against Lazio in the Europa League tomorrow.

The former Roma boss faces their city rivals tomorrow at the Stade Velodrome, having taken just a point from their first two matches.

Lazio want Brahimi

Lazio are interested in Porto’s Yacine Brahimi for January, according to reports in Italy.

The 28-year-old winger is out of contract in June, and if his contract is allowed to expire the Portuguese side must pay Doyen Sports a fee of €6.5m, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

As a result, Porto are likely to sell him in January, and the newspaper reports that Lazio are ready to make a move.

The Biancocelesti are offering a contract of four or five years, with a salary of about €2m per season.

Fiorentina discuss Simeone renewal
