ADL explains Napoli transfer troubles

Aurelio De Laurentiis gave the background to Napoli’s failed bids for Matteo Politano, Simone Verdi and Gerard Deulofeu, plus Amin Younes guarantees.

The Partenopei did not bring in any reinforcements during the January transfer window, but the President insists their strategy receive “10 out of 10.”

They seemingly agreed terms with Sassuolo for Politano just hours before the deadline, but didn’t complete the contracts in time.

Official: Parma sign Ciciretti on loan

Benevento have officially confirmed that Amato Ciciretti has been loaned to Parma for the remainder of his contract.

The Roma youth product is expected to join Napoli in the summer, with his current club confirming earlier this month that talks have taken place.

Faced with losing the forward for free, the Stregoni decided to loan him out to get his salary off the books and today it has been confirmed the Ducali have won the race for his signature.

Ciciretti done deal with Parma

After links with Getafe, it seems as if Benevento will loan Amato Ciciretti to Parma for six months until his free transfer to Napoli.

The Roma youth product will be out of contract in June and has already agreed terms to join the Partenopei next season.

Benevento wanted to monetise the situation for the remaining six months and get another club to pay for his salary, as well as a small fee for the loan.

Spanish club Getafe had been the favourites, but Sky Sport Italia claim a deal has been done with Serie B promotion-chasers and fallen giants Parma.

His contract with Benevento expires at the end of the season and he has already agreed to join Napoli as a free agent.

It’s unlikely he will see out the campaign at the Stadio Scida, as Benevento want to cash in with a paid loan spell.

Getafe had seemed a done deal, but Tuttomercatoweb claim that Genoa have suddenly dived in with a new proposal for the free kick specialist.

‘Benevento will sign three’

Benevento President Oreste Vigorito says three players will arrive in January, confirming Sandro is close to signing.

The Streghe have won their last two matches, but remain rooted to the bottom of the Serie A table, eight points from safety.

“We haven’t targeted the foreign market out of a love of non-Italians,” Vigorito explained to Otto Pagine.

“Our transfer campaign is complicated and we can’t convince players to come to Benevento, so we’ve had a large number of scouts and observers in just a few months.
