PSG continue Donnarumma pursuit

Paris Saint-Germain are again being linked with Gianluigi Donnarumma, with reports Milan have set a €60m cash only asking price.

The goalkeeper is a youth product and their most valuable player, making him the quickest route to a large profit for the Rossoneri this summer.

Sport Mediaset and La Gazzetta dello Sport continue to maintain PSG are preparing an offer, although Milan would only accept cash and not Alphonse Areola in part-exchange.

PSG must pay €50m for Donnarumma

Paris Saint-Germain are back in for Gianluigi Donnarumma, but it’s reported Milan want at least €50m to sell, reinvesting in Angel Correa.

The goalkeeper has long been on PSG’s wish-list, even before director Leonardo returned to Paris from his job at San Siro.

With Kevin Trapp’s transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt, reports are growing that the Ligue 1 champions will resume their approach for Donnarumma.

Only PSG cash for Donnarumma

Reports are growing in Italy and France that if PSG sign Gianluigi Donnarumma, it will be for cash only and not Alphonse Areola.

It had been suggested this week that Paris Saint-Germain offered Areola plus €20m for Donnarumma, but that it was rejected out of hand.

According to L’Equipe and Eurosport, that deal was never going to work because Areola has his heart set on a Premier League transfer.

PSG's Donnarumma bid thrown out

Milan have thrown out Paris Saint-Germain’s opening bid of €20m plus Alphonse Areola for goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Multiple sources claimed on Wednesday evening that Milan were in talks to sell Donnarumma to PSG for cash plus Areola, equating to a deal worth €50m.

However, Sport Mediaset and Tuttomercatoweb insist the Rossoneri are demanding much more than the cash offering of €20m.

Donnarumma to PSG for Areola and €20m?

Milan are in negotiations for a goalkeeper exchange, sending Gianluigi Donnarumma to PSG for Alphonse Areola and €20m, claim Sky Sport Italia and Eurosport.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio and Eurosport France this evening, the talks are in progress and the Rossoneri need to raise funds by June 30 to balance the books.

Donnarumma is the natural option to move on, as he came up through their youth academy and his sale would therefore qualify as pure profit.

Areola: ‘Buffon my idol’

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola doesn’t mind rotation, because Gianluigi Buffon “has always been my idol”.

The Frenchman signed a new contract this week, but he and Buffon are sharing number 1 duties this season.

“It was a nice gesture from the club, now it's up to me to repay their confidence,” Areola said in his Press conference.

“Right now I’m happy with what’s going on, Gigi has always been my idol and now I have the chance to train with him, so I can only improve.”

Buffon to face Liverpool

Gianluigi Buffon is expected to start for Paris Saint-Germain against both Toulouse and Liverpool, according to L’Equipe.

The veteran Italian has so far been rotating in the role of goalkeeper with teammate Alphonse Areola.

Now that Buffon’s Champions League ban has expired and he played in the 1-1 draw with Napoli, he has surpassed Areola in the pecking order.

It’s reported Buffon will take the gloves both against Toulouse on Saturday in Ligue 1 and in the crucial Champions League showdown with Liverpool next Wednesday.

ADL: Cavani could return, if...

Aurelio De Laurentiis reveals Edinson Cavani could return to Napoli ‘if he doesn’t want to play for Paris Saint-Germain anymore and lowers his demands.’

Cavani scored over 100 goals in just three seasons with Napoli before joining PSG in 2013, although the striker has never ruled out a second spell at the San Paolo.

“You must be crazy not to be happy at Napoli,” De Laurentiis told Le Parisien ahead of the two clubs’ Champions League clash on Wednesday.

The Italy and Juventus legend moved to Ligue 1 in the summer after his contract in Turin expired, signing on for two seasons.

“Gigi isn’t just a player who is on the bench, he has a big influence on the team on a daily basis,” Tuchel told RMC Sport 1.
