Bayern to bring back Costa?

Bayern Munich are said to be interested in bringing back Juventus’ Douglas Costa, according to German outlet Bild.

The Bavarians are in need of wingers following long-term injuries to Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.

Costa has also been in and out of the Juve starting XI this season with his own injury problems.

However, German newspaper Bild suggests that the serial Bundesliga champions would like to take the Brazilian on loan for the remainder of the season.

'Bayern wouldn't spend €100m on a senior'

Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness claims his club ‘would never have’ spent €112m on a ‘senior’ like Juventus did to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is the second time Bayern have publicly criticised Juve for investing an Italian-record sum on Ronaldo, although Hoeness clarified the German giants would have ‘with our eyes closed if he was 24’.

“He’s 33 years old, a senior,” he told Bild.

Hoeness: ‘Costa a mercenary’

Bayern Munich President Uli Hoeness dismisses Juventus winger Douglas Costa as “a mercenary”.

The Brazilian joined the Bianconeri in a €6m loan deal, with the option of making the deal permanent next summer.

Even if Juve decide not to take up that option, it appears Costa won’t be welcome back in Bavaria.

“Replacing Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben?” Hoeness considered in an interview with Frankenpost.
