Fonseca doesn't blame Giacomelli

Paulo Fonseca doesn’t blame the referee Piero Giacomelli for awarding two highly-contentious penalties in Milan-Roma: ‘Everybody makes mistakes.'

"I don’t have to comment, we all have days where we make mistakes. He still made mistakes for both teams,” Foseca told Sky Sport after the game.

"The good thing is that we scored three goals, it’s not as good that we conceded three.

“It was an even game, we started by conceding a goal but we reacted well and with courage.

Fonseca: ‘Roma face Milan not Ibra’

Paulo Fonseca warns 'Roma will face Milan and not only Zlatan Ibrahimovic' and reveals when Chris Smalling will return to action.

"Ibrahimovic is definitely a great pro, otherwise he couldn’t play like he is doing at 39,” Fonseca said on the eve of Milan-Roma.

“This is not a match against [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic, it’s against Milan. I don’t prepare the match with just one player in mind. We worked thinking about the whole team,” he insisted.

Report: Allegri meets Roma owners

Reports in Italy suggest that Max Allegri met with Dan and Ryan Friedkin, so he’d be the favourite to take over if Paulo Fonseca were to be fired.

He had previously been reticent on the idea of joining the Giallorossi, but seems to be more open to the idea now.
