Fonseca: 'Almost perfect Roma'

Paulo Fonseca felt Roma were “almost perfect” in the first half against Genoa, but “mustn’t make these mistakes with the final pass.”

The Giallorossi made the most of Grifone errors at Marassi to come away with the 3-1 victory.

“All the lads had a good match, especially in the first half, when we were almost perfect,” the coach told Sky Sport Italia.

Report: Ibanez wants Roma

Roger Ibanez would prefer a move to Roma, according to Sky Sport Italia, as the Giallorossi leapfrog Bologna into pole position for the Atalanta player.

Bologna had reportedly agreed to pay Atalanta €9m with €2m in add-ons and Roma would have to match the offer to bring him to the Olimpico.

But, after meeting with both clubs, the broadcaster claims that the player would prefer to play for Paulo Fonseca in the capital over Sinisa Mihajlovic at the Renato Dall'Ara.

Spinnazzola-Politano medicals tomorrow

The two players are set to swap clubs and Sky Sport Italia reveals that the two clubs have come to an agreement about an exchange of players.

Tomorrow Spinazzola will arrive at Inter for his medical, whilst Politano will be going through his tests in the Italian capital.

A fascinating game unfolded at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening, as Juventus edged out Roma to clinch the Winter Champion crown. Capitalising on Inter’s Saturday night draw with Atalanta was paramount, although the Bianconeri looked increasingly shaky as the game developed.

The battle on the side-lines was one for the football hipsters. Progressive Roma coach Paulo Fonseca attempting to outwit Maurizio Sarri.

Fonseca: 'Proud of Roma reaction'

Paulo Fonseca wishes Nicolò Zaniolo a speedy recovery and insists he is “proud” of the way Roma reacted to their dismal start against Juventus.

The game was overshadowed by the serious knee injury to Zaniolo, who was stretchered off in tears. He has now been diagnosed with a torn ACL and meniscus damage in the right knee, so will have surgery tomorrow and his season is over.

Fonseca: 'Hope I make Ronaldo angry'

Roma boss Paulo Fonseca says he hopes to make Cristiano Ronaldo “angry” on Sunday and that his club are “vigilant” in the transfer market.

Portuguese pair Fonseca and Ronaldo go head-to-head this weekend, when Roma welcome Juventus to the Olimpico in Serie A.
