Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will likely remain at Napoli beyond the summer but must sign a contract extension that will probably include a release clause.

Kvaratskhelia has made history with Georgia, helping his national team qualify for the European Championship for the first time ever.

His contract at Stadio Maradona expires in 2027, but according to Gazzetta, Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis is ready to meet with members of the winger’s entourage to offer an improved deal.

Kvaratskhelia has been linked with a move to Barcelona and his agent was spotted in the capital of Catalunya when the Partenopei met the Blaugrana in the Champions League Round of 16 earlier in March.

However, according to Gazzetta, Kvara is keen to remain at Napoli for one more season to complete his development, with his father and his agent sharing the same view.

Kvara is on a €1.5m-a-year deal at the Stadio Maradona, and according to Gazzetta, he will be offered a new deal until 2028 or 2029 worth at least €4.5m per season, including add-ons.

Despite the player’s will to remain at Napoli, the two parties have yet to discuss financial details and a release clause that will likely be included in his new contract. Napoli recently extended their star striker Victor Osimhen’s deal, which includes a release clause of €120-130m.
