Paqueta: 'I'd love to follow Kaka'

Paqueta: 'Dream of being like Kaka'

Lucas Paquetà has landed in Italy to begin training with Milan after his €35m transfer from Flamengo. “My dream is to do as well as Kaka.”

The 21-year-old becomes the most expensive ever deal from a Brazilian club to Serie A and said goodbye to family and friends at the airport.

He was accompanied on the flight to Milan by father Marcelo, mother Cris, brother Matheus and wife Duda, as well as Rossoneri director Leonardo.

Milan miss out on Paqueta?

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly moved ahead of Milan in the queue for Flamengo starlet Lucas Paqueta.

According to Globo Esporte, PSG superstar Neymar has personally requested the signing of Paqueta.

Furthermore, the Brazilian would have asked for his countryman to be brought in as early as January.

It comes after Milan had reportedly instructed Ricky Kaka to scout the 21-year-old, who has been likened to former Chelsea ace Oscar.

Kaka open to Milan role

Ricky Kaka admits he is open to a new job at Milan, as “with Leonardo and Paolo Maldini, my bond with the club is even tighter.”

Yonghong Li lost control of the club after failing to keep up debt repayments, allowing US hedge fund Elliott Management to repossess it.

They revamped the structure with technical director Leonardo and director of strategic development Maldini, but now Kaka could join the former teammates.

Kaka: 'I was loved at Milan'

Ricky Kaka looked back over his career highs and lows, both of them at Milan, trouble with Jose Mourinho and realising it was time to quit.

The Brazilian spoke to UOL about his career, which saw him have two different spells at San Siro.

“In 2009 I accepted the proposal from Real Madrid, but after that move I was completely destroyed, because I couldn’t replicate what I’d done for Milan,” confessed Kaka.

Fassone: 'Kaka decision before Christmas'

Milan CEO Marco Fassone confirmed Ricky Kaka will “decide what to do” about his future before Christmas and explained their training retreat.

Kaka announced his retirement from football this week, but hasn’t yet made a decision on his future after a proposal to return to San Siro as a director.

“I spent an hour with Kaka and his Dad about 15 days ago,” revealed Fassone at a book presentation this evening.

Tassotti picks ideal Milan XI

Milan legend Mauro Tassotti picked an ideal XI from his many Rossoneri teammates, including Paolo Maldini, Andrea Pirlo, Ruud Gullit and Marco van Basten.

The 57-year-old defender spent almost his entire career at San Siro, leaving Lazio in 1980 and staying until his retirement in the summer of 1997.

Tassotti is now working as assistant manager for Ukraine Coach and former Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko.
