Serie B: Livorno hire Filippini

Serie B side Livorno announced they have fired coach Roberto Breda and appointed former Brescia and Lazio winger Antonio Filippini.

The decision was made following a 1-0 defeat in the Tuscan Derby with Pisa, which left them rock bottom of the table.

It’s the second time Breda has been sacked by Livorno this season, as he had already been dismissed on December 9 only to be recalled on February 3.

The comeback didn’t work either, so he’s been fired again and replaced by Filippini.

Serie B: Livorno sack Breda

Livorno have decided to part ways with coach Roberto Breda after sinking to the bottom of Serie B.

The final call came after another poor performance, which saw Livorno lose 2-0 to Spezia on Sunday.

Breda was hired a year ago and helped the Amaranto stay up in 2018-19, but they have won just three and lost 10 of their League games this season.

He becomes the third coach to lose his job in Serie B this term after Cremonese sacked Massimo Rastelli and Empoli dismissed Cristian Bucchi.

Official: Breda in at Livorno

Serie B strugglers Livorno have officially appointed Roberto Breda as their new Coach.

Breda replaces Livorno legend Cristiano Lucarelli [pictured], who was sacked after leading the side to just one win from their opening 10 games.

The 49-year-old was last in charge of Perugia, taking them to the Serie B playoffs last season, but made way for ex-Milan and Italy defender Alessandro Nesta.

The newly-promoted Amaranto, for their part, are bottom of the 19-team second tier with only five points to their name.

Serie B: Perugia to appoint Nesta?

In a shock move, Perugia have sacked Coach Roberto Breda despite qualifying for the promotion play-offs and are due to hire Alessandro Nesta.

They earned a 1-1 draw with Novara this afternoon, but still opted to sack the tactician and a statement confirmed they’ll name the new boss on May 14.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the name of the new Coach will be Nesta in his first Italian management role.

The former Lazio and Milan defender was the Coach of Miami FC in the North American Soccer League (NASL, a form of Serie B for MLS).
