Antonello: ‘Smaller but excellent stadium’

Inter CEO Alessandro Antonello has revealed his vision of a “smaller but excellent stadium” as talks were confirmed with Milan to improve San Siro.

Milan President Paolo Scaroni also discussed the new stadium project, which will see the two clubs work together on either modernising San Siro or building a new stadium.

Antonello echoed his thoughts on the requirement to upgrade the shared home of the two clubs, and outlined the plan to potentially reduce the capacity but improve the matchday experience for supporters.

Scaroni: No Milan-Inter hatred

Paolo Scaroni confirms Milan will work with Inter to deliver a new-look San Siro as ‘unlike in Rome, the fans don’t hate each other.’

Scaroni already announced Milan and Inter were thinking about building a new stadium to replace San Siro, but the Rossoneri President is also open to the Giuseppe Meazza being renovated.

“It’s a beautiful stadium, but we have so many things to do,” he told reporters.

Scaroni: ‘Milan become a team’

Milan President Paolo Scaroni praises the impact Krzysztof Piatek has made while he insists that they’ve “become a team” thanks to Coach Gennaro Gattuso.

The Rossoneri’s draw with Roma on Sunday night kept them in fourth place in the Serie A table in the battle for Champions League qualification.

January signings Piatek and Lucas Paqueta have made an immediate difference and Scaroni is pleased with how they’ve settled, while he also praised the influence of Gattuso.

Scaroni: 'Happy' with Piatek talks

Genoa striker Krzysztof Piatek’s transfer is imminent. “It is not up in the air, so we are happy with that,” smiled Milan President Paolo Scaroni.

Negotiations are expected today to complete the final details and Scaroni commented to Sportitalia as he got into his car, where he was asked: "Is it done or are we up in the air?"

“It is not up in the air,” replied Scaroni.

Leonardo: 'Paqueta for creative Milan'

Director Leonardo and President Paolo Scaroni insist Lucas Paquetá proves Milan “want to get back to the top in an attack-minded and creative side.”

The 21-year-old trequartista became the most expensive ever transfer from Brazil to Italy, as the Rossoneri paid €35m plus up to €10m in bonuses to Flamengo.

“This signing confirms the intentions of Elliott to bring Milan back to the top,” said President Paolo Scaroni in the presentation Press conference.

Meetings between the two Serie A giants and with the local council had pointed towards creating a new purpose-built arena rather than restructuring the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Milan President 'has €10,000 stolen'

Milan President Paolo Scaroni reportedly had a briefcase containing €10,000 stolen from him on Friday.

According to Corriere della Sera, Scaroni was in the middle of an appointment when the thief opened the backdoor of a car he was in, took the briefcase and ran away.

The broadcaster explains the driver tried to chase the criminal, but a woman, ‘probably an accomplice’, blocked them off and then fled herself.

Milan and Torino hail legend Radice

Milan President Paolo Scaroni and Torino patron Urbano Cairo reiterated the place Gigi Radice has in the history of both clubs.

Radice died on Friday at the age of 83 after a long illness, so both these sides will wear black armbands as well as hold a minute’s silence.

Gazidis in stands for Milan

Ivan Gazidis is set to be announced as the new Milan CEO on Saturday, as he is in the stands with Milan President Paolo Scaroni today.

The former Arsenal chief was widely expected to take over the role and nothing is official yet, but this seems to be a form of unofficial statement.

Gazidis was sitting in the stands at San Siro during this evening’s Europa League game against Dudelange.

He was next to President Scaroni and directors Paolo Maldini and Leonardo.
