Rossi: 'My Fiorentina dream'

Giuseppe Rossi said Fiorentina are “honoured” to have Franck Ribery in the squad. “My dream is to get back on the pitch.”

The out of contract striker was in the stands of the Stadio Franchi in Florence today to attend a friendly match during the break for international duty.

“People still stop me in the street to remind me of that October 20 game,” Rossi told Violanews, referring to the 4-2 victory over rivals Juventus.

Rossi: I was Barca-bound...

Giuseppe Rossi claims he was Barcelona-bound in 2011, Inter are Juventus’ biggest challengers and Rocco Commisso is ‘serious’ about Fiorentina.

Rossi scored 32 goals for Villarreal in 2010-11 and was heavily linked with Barca the following summer, but Inter new boy Alexis Sanchez - then of Udinese - ended up moving to Camp Nou instead.

“Lukaku works the attack by himself but plays for the team,” continued the former Italy striker to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rossi: Waiting for a call

Former Fiorentina and Italy star Giuseppe Rossi has insisted that he is ready to play regular football again. “I’m waiting for a call.”

Rossi has seven goals in 30 caps for Italy and scored over 100 times for Villarreal and Fiorentina.

However, it seems no-one is prepared to take a chance on the forward’s fitness, given his five ACL injuries in the last eight years.

“I’ve felt good for a long time,” the 32-year-old told Gazzetta dello Sport.

Rossi: Montella ideal for Fiorentina

Giuseppe Rossi has praised Fiorentina for bringing back Vincenzo Montella, who is a ‘great’ Coach.

Montella recently returned to Fiorentina after Stefano Pioli handed in his resignation, and Rossi has only good memories of ‘Aeroplanino’, scoring 17 goals under him during the 2013-14 campaign.

“He’s a Coach who is prepared and able to take care of every little detail of the game,” the former Italy striker told Corriere dello Sport.

Spurs shoot down Rossi talk

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out making a move for ex-Fiorentina and Italy forward Giuseppe Rossi this month.

Rossi had been mentioned as a possible solution to Tottenham’s striking crisis, which has stripped them of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, given the 31-year-old is currently a free agent and in England training with former club Manchester United.

Tottenham in for Rossi?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned to former Fiorentina and Italy star Giuseppe Rossi to ease their striking woes.

According to Tuttosport, Tottenham could offer Rossi a short-term, pay-as-you-play contract.

It comes as Harry Kane faces a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury and Son Heung-min is currently on Asian Cup duty with South Korea, while ex-Juventus hitman Fernando Llorente could return to Spain.

The Italian, for his part, is a free agent but training with old club Manchester United to maintain his fitness levels.
