Juventus prepare Thomas Partey package

Juventus are reportedly offering Douglas Costa or Federico Bernardeschi as part of an exchange deal for Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The 27-year-old Ghana international has also been heavily linked with Arsenal, but Juve are stepping up their interest following the appointment of new coach Andrea Pirlo.

According to the Corriere dello Sport newspaper, the Bianconeri are hoping to bring down the €50m asking price by including player exchanges.

Man Utd lose Sancho, turn to Chiesa

After Borussia Dortmund announced Jadon Sancho is staying, Manchester United turn to other targets, including Federico Chiesa and Douglas Costa.

Sancho was their number one target, but this afternoon Dortmund director Michael Zorc made his position very clear.

“We plan on having Sancho in our team this season, the decision is final. I think that answers all our questions. Last summer we adjusted Jadon’s salary to match the development of his performances. So, in context, we had already extended his contract until 2023 back then.”

Juventus players silent on Sarri

Miralem Pjanic wrote a goodbye message to Juventus, but none of the players have so far said a word about Maurizio Sarri’s dismissal.

The coach was fired this afternoon, a result of last night’s Champions League Round of 16 exit to Olympique Lyonnais.

It was Pjanic’s final game in the Bianconeri jersey ahead of his transfer to Barcelona.

Thigh strain for Douglas Costa

Juventus confirm Douglas Costa will be out of action for at least two weeks with a Grade II thigh strain.

The Brazilian played in last night’s 2-1 defeat to Udinese as a substitute.

He underwent tests this morning and was diagnosed with a Grade II lesion to the adductor in his right thigh.

His condition will be re-evaluated in 15 days.

This means the Serie A season is already over for Douglas Costa, while he also could be at risk for the Champions League Round of 16 tie with Olympique Lyonnais in August.

Douglas Costa out, Raul Jimenez in?

Juventus are inviting a bidding war between Manchester City and PSG for Douglas Costa, it’s reported, with Wolves star Raul Jimenez as his replacement.

According to today’s edition of Tuttosport, Douglas Costa as well as Federico Bernardeschi will be sacrificed this summer to raise funds for players more suited to Maurizio Sarri’s vision.

Brazilian winger Douglas Costa is of interest to both Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain, though he turns 30 in September and has a long history of muscular problems.

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri is happy for Gonzalo Higuain, calls Douglas Costa an ‘extraordinary weapon’ and hopes Miralem Pjanic will stay ‘beyond August’.

Juve took a while to get going against Lecce on Friday night, not scoring any of their goals in the 4-0 win until the 53rd minute.

Will Sarri's Juventus stand up?

Juventus were the first team to reach the Olimpico showpiece but, as Livio Caferoglu writes, they have plenty to mull over before the Final with Napoli...

For Juventus, there was an overriding sense of relief when Gianluca Rocchi blew for full-time last Friday. They booked their place in the Coppa Italia Final, courtesy of a goalless draw with Milan, and pulled through without any injuries, even managing to play a bit in the first half. However, their performance levels plummeted after the restart, leaving Maurizio Sarri with more questions than answers going into Wednesday’s Final against former club Napoli.
