Boca: 'Napoli best Almendra bid'

Boca Juniors confirm “several clubs are interested in Agustin Almendra, but Napoli made the most concrete proposal. He’ll probably leave.”

The 19-year-old central midfielder has been on Napoli’s radar for over a year and negotiations seem to be progressing well.

“We have several clubs interested in Almendra, but Napoli made the most concrete proposal we’ve received so far,” Boca Juniors President Daniel Angelici told Radio La Red.

Corradi son now free of cancer

Wonderful news for former Lazio, Chievo, Valencia, Manchester City and Montreal Impact striker Bernardo Corradi, as his son is now free of cancer.

The former Italy international and wife Elena Santarelli announced in November 2017 that their son Giacomo had been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour.

Santarelli announced via Instagram that their son, who turns 10 in July, had been given the all-clear and was now in the ‘follow-up’ stage of treatment.

Zola: 'Foreign Coaches help in England'

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola believes Maurizio Sarri is among foreign Coaches who brought “new ideas and ways of playing” to English clubs.

The Stamford Bridge side are in the Europa League semi-final this evening against Eintracht Frankfurt, while Arsenal take on Valencia.

Arsenal scouts watch Praet

Arsenal have sent scouts to watch Sampdoria midfielder Dennis Praet in action against Lazio this afternoon.

It kicks off at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT), click here for a match preview.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Gunners are hoping to replicate the deal they did with Samp for Lucas Torreira last summer.

Praet turns 25 next month and this is not the first time that Arsenal have had scouts in the stands to evaluate the Belgium international.

Dybala, Higuain or Cancelo for Icardi?

It’s been reported that Juventus could consider offering one of Paulo Dybala, Gonzalo Higuain or Joao Cancelo plus money in exchange for Mauro Icardi.

According to newspaper La Repubblica, the possibility for any potential move could be discussed tonight after the Derby d’Italia game between the sides at the San Siro.

Calciomercato.com report that Bianconeri sporting director Fabio Paratici would like to bring Icardi to Turin, but neither he nor Inter CEO Beppe Marotta will make the first move.

Cancelo: 'Thanks Inter for path to Juventus'

Joao Cancelo has thanked Inter – for allowing him the chance to join “Juventus, the best club in Italy, with Max Allegri one of the best Coaches in the world.”

The two sides meet on Saturday evening in the Derby d’Italia and Cancelo isn’t holding back against the side he joined on loan from Valencia last season.

“When I arrived in Italy, it was a radical change for me, as I came from the Spanish League where technique is the most important thing, while here tactics are a fundamental aspect,” Cancelo told DAZN.

Piccini released from hospital

An official statement from Valencia confirmed Italian international Cristiano Piccini was discharged from hospital this morning after “renal trauma.”

The right-back suffered a heavy impact to his right side in Los Ches 3-1 victory over Levante UD last night, was substituted and brought immediately to hospital.

Muscular lesion for Piccini

Valencia confirm Italy full-back Cristiano Piccini suffered a muscular lesion during international duty.

Piccini played Saturday’s 2-0 victory over Finland, the opener of their Euro 2020 qualifying campaign, but pulled out of the squad going to face Liechtenstein this evening.

He returned to his club, who now announce tests have found a muscular lesion to the soleus in his left leg.

Italy lost Lorenzo Insigne, Federico Chiesa, Alessandro Florenzi, Stephan El Shaarawy and Piccini on international duty this month.

Italy lose Piccini and El Shaarawy

Cristiano Piccini and Stephan El Shaarawy have both left the Italy squad due to injury ahead of the Euro 2020 qualifier with Liechtenstein.

The Azzurri are fresh from a 2-0 victory over Finland on Saturday evening and will host Liechtenstein at the Stadio Tardini in Parma on Tuesday.

It has been announced that both El Shaarawy and Piccini have left the training camp and returned to their clubs for further tests.

Roma winger El Shaarawy, who did not play against Finland, picked up a calf injury.
