Samp present Eto'o to fans

Samuel Eto’o and Luis Muriel were presented to the Sampdoria fans by President Massimo Ferrero.

They were both sitting in the stands next to the patron for today’s 1-1 draw with Palermo at Marassi.

After the final whistle, the two new signings also walked on to the pitch with Ferrero.

Eto’o is due to complete his transfer from Everton and underwent a medical yesterday.

Eto'o: 'Ready for Samp challenge!'

Samuel Eto’o thanked staff after a Sampdoria medical and declared he is “ready for a new challenge!!!”

The Everton striker was in Rome on Saturday for the tests at the Villa Stuart clinic, which is also where he had his medical ahead of a move to Inter.

It was even suggested the venue was chosen because the clinic still had his paperwork and it would therefore speed up the process.

Eto'o arrives for Samp medical

Samuel Eto’o has arrived in Rome for his medical to complete a transfer to Sampdoria.

The Everton striker was driven to the Villa Stuart clinic, where he was greeted by representatives from the Genoa club.

He is due to undergo a medical, then be presented to the fans ahead of tomorrow afternoon’s Serie A game against Palermo.

Eto'o: 'Samp in Champions League!'

Samuel Eto’o is quoted as telling Italian papers he wants to get Sampdoria “into the Champions League.”

The striker is expected to fly in today for his medical and be presented to the fans ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Serie A match with Palermo.

“I can’t really talk before signing the contract,” the Everton man told Secolo XIX newspaper.

Sampdoria: 'Eto'o on Sunday'

Sampdoria President Massimo Ferrero revealed Samuel Eto’o will be presented ahead of Sunday’s game with Palermo.

The deal with Everton is all but completed and Ferrero confirmed as much in an interview with Sky Sport Italia.

“I tell all the fans to go for a walk in the morning on Sunday with their girlfriends or boyfriends, their children and families, then everyone to the stadium for a great surprise.”

Ferrero was interviewed along with Edoardo Garrone, the former President of the club.

Eto’o medical tomorrow?

Samuel Eto’o will reportedly undergo his Sampdoria medical tomorrow, before finally completing a move from Everton.

There has been a protracted transfer saga around the Cameroonian, with the Blucerchiati believing a deal had ben struck, while Everton insisted nothing had been formalised.

It was reported yesterday that a deal had finally been agreed, and now Gianluca Di Marzio’s website says Eto’o will undergo a medical in Rome tomorrow.

Report: Samp-Everton deal for Eto'o

There are reports Everton will release Samuel Eto’o to Sampdoria with performance-related bonuses.

It has been clear for almost a week now that Samp have agreed terms with the Cameroon legend for a two-and-a-half-year contract.

The Blucerchiati confirmed they are just waiting for him to extricate himself from his current deal with Everton.

According to both Sport Mediaset and Sky Sport Italia this evening, Everton have finally agreed to release Eto’o in exchange for performance-related bonuses.

Osti hopes for Eto’o deal

Sampdoria’s sporting director Carlo Osti says he’s still optimistic the club will secure a deal for Everton’s Samuel Eto’o.

The striker is believed to have agreed terms with the Blucerchiati, but the deal is being held up as he tries to free himself from the English club, with the club President stating that the deal was causing confusion.

“With Eto’o we’ve made our moves,” Osti explained to Rai Sport.

Samp: 'Eto'o wants to join us'

Director Carlo Osti confirmed Samuel Eto’o “wants to join Sampdoria. He is negotiating with Everton.”

The statement was made on Sky Sport Italia late Tuesday evening by Blucerchiati director of sport Osti.

“Our agreement with Eto’o has almost been finalised. He wants to join Sampdoria, those are his intentions.

“He is currently negotiating with Everton to resolve his contract with them. Everton are looking for a replacement.
