Santander: 'Bologna for Europe!'

Striker Federico Santander claims that Bologna will “fight for European qualification” next season under Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The centre-forward scored eight times in Serie A this season and is currently with the Paraguay squad at the Copa America in Brazil.

“With Mihajlovic as our Coach we can do great things,” Santander told TuttoMercatoWeb.com.

The Serbian took over in January from Pippo Inzaghi with his team in the relegation zone, but finished in 10th place.

Santander out for three weeks

Bologna will be without star striker Federico Santander for at least three weeks after he dislocated his shoulder.

The accident forced him off during the opening stages of Sunday’s 2-0 win over Cagliari at the Stadio Dall’Ara.

He fell awkwardly on to his left shoulder and tests today confirmed it had been dislocated.

The injury is expected to keep ‘Ropero’ out of action for at least three weeks.

The 27-year-old has scored six Serie A goals in a Rossoblu jersey this season.

‘First of many for Santander’

FC Copenhagen Coach Ståle Solbakken believes Federico Santander’s goal against Roma will be “the first of many”, but was “sorry” for Robin Olsen.

The former Norwegian international brought the striker through in Denmark, and expects him to have a big impact for Bologna.

“The one he scored against Roma yesterday will be the first of many for Federico,” Solbakken predicted, speaking to Tuttomercatoweb.
