Besiktas offer for Gonalons

Roma midfielder Maxime Gonalons is considering his options, as Besiktas joined Stade Rennais in pursuit, requesting a loan with option to buy.

Gonalons has just returned to base after a loan spell with Sevilla, where he barely featured due to injuries and poor form.

Rennes had seemed to be the favourites to pick up the 30-year-old, ahead of Girondins de Bordeaux.

However, Sky Sport Italia report this evening that Besiktas have dived in with a new proposal for a loan with option to buy at the end of the season.

Hiljemark set for Bordeaux

Genoa are working to whittle down their squad, with Oscar Hiljemark heading to Bordeaux and Andras Schafer loaned to Chievo.

The Grifone have been very active on the transfer market this summer with new Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli moulding the team to his preferred shape.

The challenge now is to cut down the numbers and a deal was completed today, as midfielder Schafer joined Chievo Verona on loan for the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, Sky Sport Italia claim Hiljemark is in negotiations for a move to Girondins de Bordeaux.

Gonalons set for Rennes loan

Maxime Gonalons is reportedly on the verge of a loan move to Stade Rennais after Bordeaux pulled out of negotiations with Roma.

The midfielder was a flop after his €5m transfer from Olympique Lyonnais in 2017 and spent last season on loan at Sevilla, where he again failed to make much impact amid injury problems.

A return to France was always considered likely and his Roma contract runs to June 2021.

There had been interest from Girondins de Bordeaux, but they appear to have pulled out.

Atalanta ask after Sabaly

Atalanta have reportedly set their sights on Girondins de Bordeaux right-back Youssouf Sabaly, who would cost around €9-10m.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the 26-year-old Senegal international would be suited to Gian Piero Gasperini’s style of football, as he likes to pour forward down the right flank and can also play on the left if needed.

Sabaly had already been linked with Napoli last summer, but suffered a knee injury, and is under contract with Bordeaux until June 2021.

Bordeaux ask for Gonalons

Girondins de Bordeaux are reportedly interested in Roma flop Maxime Gonalons after his Sevilla loan spell.

The 30-year-old midfielder was signed from Olympique Lyonnais for €5m in the summer of 2017, but made little impact in Italy.

He spent last season on loan in Spain with Sevilla, making 13 competitive appearances with one goal.

According to RMC Sport in France, Gonalons could be on his way back to Ligue 1 for Bordeaux, who have had a poor start to the Ligue 1 campaign under Coach Paulo Sousa.

Friendly: Genoa feast in Bordeaux

Genoa are celebrating another remarkable friendly win, as they beat Paulo Sousa’s Girondins de Bordeaux 3-2.

The Grifone have been very impressive in pre-season under new Coach Aurelio Andreazzoli and particularly against Ligue 1 opposition.

After the 4-3 win over Lyon and a 1-1 draw with Nantes, they also got the better of Bordeaux on their own turf.

Lukas Lerager intercepted a poor back-pass and sent Andrea Pinamonti clear on goal to open the scoring.
