Gazidis decision delayed

Ivan Gazidis is reportedly tempted by Milan’s offer to join as CEO though it could take some time, while Kaka arrives today.

The Rossoneri were taken over by Elliott Management this summer after Yonghong Li defaulted on his loan, and the U.S hedge fund has immediately begun a revolution at boardroom level.

Leonardo and Paolo Maldini are handling the football side of things, with Paolo Scaroni installed as President.

Gazidis weighs up Milan offer

Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis is still to decide whether to accept an offer from Milan, according to reports in England.

The South African businessman is wanted by new owners Elliott Management to take over the day-to-day running of the club, as President Paolo Scaroni is only filling in after the takeover.

According to The Telegraph, there is an offer on the table of €3.9m per year from the Rossoneri, a significant upgrade on his salary in England.

Arsenal deny Gazidis to Milan

Arsenal issue a statement denying chief executive Ivan Gazidis is set to leave to join Milan.

It follows reports by Sky this morning, as well as numerous Italian news outlets over the last week, that the 53-year-old would be joining the Rossoneri as CEO.

The San Siro giants are in the midst of a major overhaul at boardroom level, with Elliott Management taking over the ownership of the club and appointing Leonardo as general manager.

Previous general manager Marco Fassone has been sacked, along with former sporting director Massimiliano Mirabelli.

Maldini to be offered vice presidency?

Corriere della Sera reports Milan legend Paolo Maldini could be offered the role of the club’s vice presidency.

Despite having been touted for a position at the club numerous times in the past, it would be the former captain’s first involvement at San Siro since he retired from playing in 2009.

And despite Maldini recently stating that he would not be returning, the Rossoneri are reportedly intent on making him an offer he cannot refuse.

Elliott Management face four key challenges as their ownership of Milan begins, reports Gazzetta dello Sport.

The American hedge fund took control of the club after previous owner Yonghong Li failed to make multiple payments.

And the Italian daily claims there are four areas the firm, led by Paul Singer, will look to address in their first full week at the helm of the Rossoneri.

Elliott's three-year Milan plan

Elliott Management aim to control Milan for three years and not one, it’s reported, selling two per cent to Riccardo Silva.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the takeover after President Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts won’t be a short-term operation seeking a new buyer.

The idea would be to set up a three-year project to get the club back on track, raise its value and then sell at a large profit.

Gazidis in, Fassone out at Milan?

Milan owners Elliott Management are reportedly keen to bring Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis on board, replacing CEO Marco Fassone.

The U.S hedge fund has seized control of the club from Yonghong Li, and is in the process of overhauling the board.

According to this morning’s Corriere della Sera, Gazidis remains the prime candidate to join the board, where it’s likely he’d replace Fassone.

Leonardo, a former Rossoneri player and Coach, will likely be appointed as technical director.

Maldini: 'Milan didn't call me'

Paolo Maldini insists “nobody has called me” from Milan’s new owners Elliott Management, but he has “always been open to talk.”

The club icon has been repeatedly linked with a role at San Siro, especially after Yonghong Li lost control to US hedge fund Elliott for defaulting on debts.

“Nobody has called me” from Milan, Maldini told Mediaset Premium.

“I have always been open to talk, so I’ve never closed the door on anyone for at least a dialogue.”

Milan want Arsenal director

New Milan owners Elliott Management have reportedly approached Leonardo, Sassuolo’s Giovanni Carnevali and Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis.

The club is now in the hands of US hedge fund Elliott Management Corporation after President Yonghong Li defaulted on his debts, so the holding company was repossessed.
