Rangnick plan for Milan?

Ralph Rangnick has reportedly alerted his collaborators about a possible move to Milan this summer and there’s ‘no room for Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban’.

The German newspaper Bild is running the story about a future role at the Rossoneri for the former RB Leipzig coach.

Milan are reportedly willing to offer the current football director at Red Bull a chance to take on a role as manager for the Rossoneri, working in the same way as an English coach would do in the Premier League.

Boban: 'Milan must keep Ibrahimovic'

Director Zvonimir Boban reveals how Zlatan Ibrahimovic told Milan he had agreed to the transfer and why they ought to be discussing his contract renewal "right now."

The 38-year-old striker had other offers on the table after his contract with the LA Galaxy expired, but opted for a return to the last club he represented in Italy.

“Paolo (Maldini) called him first, then I continued the talks partly because of the language, but also the Balkan character we both share,” Boban told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Reports: Milan in-fighting over next coach

There are reports of in-fighting at Milan, with the hierarchy seemingly unable to agree upon the club’s coach for next season. However several newspapers suggest former Valencia coach Marcelino is the favourite.

Stefano Pioli is currently in charge of the Rossoneri, but it’s widely thought that Pioli won’t last longer than the end of the current campaign.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Pioli’s only saving grace would be a potential Coppa Italia victory, or, less feasibly, finishing fourth and qualifying for the Champions League.

Milan back to basics

Football Italia Chief Correspondent Richard Hall looks at how Stefano Pioli has reinvigorated Milan by doing the simple things well.

Gheorghe Hagi once stated that the way to win was not all about having talent. He claimed that being organised and possessing the will to succeed was just as important as quality. Having a little bit of stardust on top of that obviously helps, but the basics done correctly are essential. Milan have been through a tumultuous time in recent years and tried many innovative ideas to get them out of it. Stefano Pioli has now come in to ‘steady the ship’ and after a stormy start, he perhaps can claim success by going back to the simplest of strategies.

Li: 'Milan bankruptcy fake news!'

Former Milan owner Yonghong Li has hit back at Ivan Gazidis’ claim that Elliott Management saved the club from bankruptcy, calling it “fake news”.

The hedge fund seized control of the Rossoneri after the Chinese businessman defaulted on his €300m loan in the summer of 2018, before quickly fading back into obscurity.

However, he recently opened an official account on Twitter - which is banned in his homeland - to relay his side of the story to Milan fans.
