Roma row with Turkish agent continues

Roma released a statement expressing their bemusement at continuing "increasingly bizarre" insults from agent Bayram Tutumlu.

The Turkish representative helped broker moves for Cengiz Under and Robin Olsen, is close to ex-Giallorossi director of sport Monchi and his nephew is the agent of goalkeeper Olsen, whose move to Montpellier broke down.

Agent tirade against 'lying' Roma

A war of words has erupted between Turkish agent Bayram Tutumlu and Roma President James Pallotta, who dubbed the furious representative “hilarious.”

Tutumlu helped broker the moves for Robin Olsen and Cengiz Under, and is close to ex-Giallorossi director of sport Monchi.

The agent went on a Twitter tirade aimed at Roma, President Pallotta, consultant Franco Baldini and new director of sport Gianluca Petrachi – all of it in Spanish.

'Roma to blame for Olsen slump'

Robin Olsen’s agent blamed Roma for the collapse of his Montpellier move and accused them of failing to support a goalkeeper who was ‘among Europe’s best’.

Olsen appeared all set for Montpellier, but negotiations fell through and the French side ended up signing Geronimo Rulli from Real Sociedad.

That has left Olsen in an awkward position as he goes into the new season as Roma’s third choice, behind new boy Pau Lopez and Antonio Mirante.

“First of all, I never met Roma,” Hasan Cetinkaya told Aftonbladet.

Montpellier pass up Olsen

Roma are set to be lumbered with Robin Olsen after Montpellier opted to sign Real Sociedad goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

Olsen looked to be all set for Montpellier, with Roma even prepared to take a minor loss on the Swede so they could get him off their books.

However, Real Sociedad confirmed on Sunday evening that they had given Rulli permission to undergo a medical with the French side.

The Argentine was linked with Napoli before they signed Alex Meret as Pepe Reina’s long-term heir last summer.

Montpellier agree Olsen move

Roma finally seem to have reached a deal to send Robin Olsen to Montpellier, on loan with option to buy for a total €8.2m.

It’s still not quite the €9m paid to FC Copenhagen a year ago, but the goalkeeper was such a flop that he was dropped in the final months in favour of Antonio Mirante.

According to Sky Sport Italia, intensive negotiations worked out the final details today and a move is now down to personal terms.

Montpellier will pay €1.2m for the one-season loan and a further €7m option to buy in June 2020.

Olsen ready for Montpellier

Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen is discussing a transfer to Montpellier, just a year after his €9m move from FC Copenhagen.

The Sweden international was deeply disappointing in his debut Serie A season and was dropped in favour of Antonio Mirante during the final months.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma want to at least not lose money on the deal and hope to send him to Montpellier on loan with obligation to buy, which would be activated after a certain number of appearances.

Montpellier open to Olsen loan

Montpellier have confirmed that they will hold talks with a view to signing Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen on loan.

Olsen is surplus to requirements after Roma brought in Pau Lopez from Real Betis, and Montpellier President Laurent Nicollin revealed his side were interested in the Swede.

“Yes, he’s a possibility,” Nicollin told RMC Sport.

“We’ve contacted Roma and his agent should come here to talk about the financial aspect and see if we can establish a loan with an option to buy.”

Benfica and Porto eye Olsen

Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen could be heading towards Portugal, as O Jogo claims Benfica and FC Porto are interested.

The Sweden international was signed a year ago to replace Alisson Becker at a cost of €9m, but had a dismal debut Serie A season.

In the closing stages, he was dropped in favour of veteran Antonio Mirante and has now been usurped by Pau Lopez.

According to Portuguese paper O Jogo, Olsen has caught the eye of both Porto and Benfica.
