Ounas key for Osimhen?

Despite the words of Lille President Gerard Lopez, Italian reports insist they would favour Napoli in a deal worth €40m plus Adam Ounas for Victor Osimhen.

Lopez told Sportmail today that he wanted a similar sum to that paid for Nicolas Pepe last summer, which cost Arsenal €78m after they beat Napoli in a bidding war.

However, Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains the asking price for 21-year-old Osimhen is closer to €55-60m.

Lille: 'Multiple Osimhen offers'

Lille President Gerard Lopez insists he has ‘multiple offers’ for Victor Osimhen, despite the striker’s agent claiming Napoli were the only club ‘that wants him 100 per cent.’

The Nigeria international has scored 18 goals in 38 competitive games for Lille this season, earning links with Napoli, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Newcastle United and Everton.

ADL: 'Napoli evaluating many names'

Aurelio De Laurentiis assures Napoli are “evaluating many names other than James Rodriguez, Hirving Lozano and Mauro Icardi,” but has no Nicolas Pepe regrets.

“We are evaluating many names other than James Rodriguez, Lozano and Icardi,” the President told Sky Sport Italia.

“So much so that I made a large offer for Pepe, but we were unable to get him. Arsenal have five times the revenue of Napoli, so they will have simply offered him more money. Never mind, we’ll find another Pepe.

Official: Pepe joins Arsenal

Nicolas Pepe has officially signed for Arsenal, completing a transfer believed to be worth €80m from Lille, after Napoli pulled out.

The Partenopei had been leading the race for the 20-year-old Ivorian winger, but it’s widely reported they refused to pay his agents up to €10m in commission.

According to Il Mattino newspaper, compared to the €10m offered to his agents by Arsenal, Napoli had proposed €1.7m spread out over five instalments.

Lille back in for Ounas

Lille have reignited negotiations with Napoli for Algeria international Adam Ounas, separate from Nicolas Pepe discussions.

It had been reported last week that the Partenopei had the upper hand in negotiations for Pepe precisely because they could include Ounas as part of the deal.

However, Arsenal offered the player better personal terms and commission, so he opted for the Gunners.

Now Soccer Link and Le 10 Sport in France both maintain Lille have revived talks with Napoli to sign Ounas.

Napoli zoom in on Zaha?

Napoli are interested in Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, claim the Daily Mail, seen as an alternative to Nicolas Pepe.

The right-sided winger is also an Ivory Coast international and had been linked with Arsenal, who beat Napoli to Pepe’s €80m signature from Lille.

According to the Mail newspaper, Zaha would cost £60m (approximately €68m), because proposals from Arsenal and Everton were turned down.

It’s believed Palace would be more open to selling the 26-year-old abroad than to another Premier League club.

Release clause for Lozano?

Napoli target Hirving Lozano has a €42m release clause in his PSV Eindhoven contract, claim reports, as talks with Mino Raiola continue.

The Mexico international had been one of the first names on Carlo Ancelotti’s list this summer, but is coming back around after problems with other options such as Nicolas Pepe and James Rodriguez.

PSV Eindhoven were knocked out of the Champions League preliminary round last night by FC Basel, which makes it much more likely they’ll sell Lozano.

Verratti agent: 'Pepe price excessive'

Nicolas Pepe is set to join Arsenal for €80m and Marco Verratti’s former agent insists Napoli were right to pull out. “The price is excessive.”

The Lille attacking winger had been in advanced negotiations for a move to Napoli, with his agents flying in by helicopter for talks, but Arsenal offered better personal terms and agreed to pay the large commission for his representatives.

“Pepe plays in a puppet league where the only team is Paris Saint-Germain,” Verratti’s former agent Donato Di Campli told Radio Kiss Kiss.

'Why Pepe chose Arsenal over Napoli'

Nicolas Pepe’s camp claims the Lille winger rejected Napoli because Arsenal’s offer was ‘more convincing, both financially and in terms of the sporting project.’

Pepe is on his way to Arsenal in an €80m deal after Napoli failed to agree personal terms with the Ivorian, although they too were prepared to meet Lille’s asking price.

It is also understood Partenopei President Aurelio De Laurentiis was not keen on paying out so much in commission to the player’s representatives.
