Mazzarri transforms Torino for Roma

Walter Mazzarri hints at some radical changes to Torino as they visit Roma tomorrow. “After the game I’ll explain why I made certain choices.”

Genoa ask Juve for Pjaca

Genoa have asked Juventus for Marko Pjaca, who is currently struggling for playing time on loan at Fiorentina.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the proposal was put forward during today’s negotiations over a series of transfer deals.

Stefano Sturaro is on his way to Genoa on loan with €8m option to buy at the end of the season.

In turn, the Bianconeri are working to lock down defender Cristian Romero for the 2020-21 campaign.

Spurs shoot down Rossi talk

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has ruled out making a move for ex-Fiorentina and Italy forward Giuseppe Rossi this month. 

Rossi had been mentioned as a possible solution to Tottenham’s striking crisis, which has stripped them of Harry Kane and Son Heung-min, given the 31-year-old is currently a free agent and in England training with former club Manchester United.

The referees for Serie A Week 20 have been announced, with Gianluca Rocchi overseeing Napoli-Lazio.

Tottenham in for Rossi?

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly turned to former Fiorentina and Italy star Giuseppe Rossi to ease their striking woes.

According to Tuttosport, Tottenham could offer Rossi a short-term, pay-as-you-play contract.

It comes as Harry Kane faces a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury and Son Heung-min is currently on Asian Cup duty with South Korea, while ex-Juventus hitman Fernando Llorente could return to Spain.

The Italian, for his part, is a free agent but training with old club Manchester United to maintain his fitness levels.

Fiorentina reject €20m for Hancko?

Fiorentina have reportedly rejected Zenit St Petersburg’s bid to take defender David Hancko on loan with a €20m option to buy.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, Zenit offered €500,000 to loan Hancko until the end of the season and €20m to sign him permanently in the summer.

However, the Sky Sport Italia journalist notes Fiorentina knocked back the proposal as they ‘believe’ in the Slovak’s potential.

Confirmed: Coppa QF kick-off times

The dates and times for this season’s Coppa Italia quarter-finals have been confirmed.

Milan and Napoli get the last eight under way at San Siro on Tuesday January 29, kicking off at 19:45 GMT.

The following day sees Fiorentina host Roma at 16:30 and holders Juventus travel to Atalanta at 19:45.

Revealed: Fiorentina's Traore deal

Fiorentina will reportedly pay €13m for Empoli midfielder Hamed Traore, who is undergoing his medical with the Viola.

According to La Nazione, Empoli will also be entitled to 15 percent of any fee Fiorentina receive if they sell Traore on.

In the meantime, Gianluca Di Marzio reports the 18-year-old checked in at Ponte Nuovo clinic in Florence for his medical.

Despite signing a contract with the Tuscans until 2023, the Ivorian will make the 40km trip back to Empoli, where he will see out the season.

Fiorentina send Diks to Standard

Fiorentina defender Kevin Diks is reportedly on the verge of joining Standard Liege.

The Dutchman arrived in Florence in 2016 from Vitesse, but struggled for playing time and went on loan to Feyenoord last season.

Diks has not featured at all this season and had injury problems too.

Palace beat Viola to Perri

Fiorentina have reportedly missed out on Sao Paulo goalkeeper Lucas Perri, as he is heading to Crystal Palace instead.

The 21-year-old Brazilian had been linked with a move to Serie A, although he’d have to compete for the gloves with this season’s new arrival Alban Lafont.

According to Globoesporte, English club Crystal Palace have secured a deal to take Perri on loan with €4.5m option to buy.

However, that will only cover 80 per cent of his rights.
