Coppa: Mandragora double for Udinese

Udinese pushed Sudtirol aside 3-1 with a Rolando Mandragora brace to secure their spot in the Fourth Round of the Coppa Italia, where they will face Bologna.

It took quite a while for Igor Tudor’s men to get going against the Serie C outfit, as Mandragora and Ignacio Pussetto skimmed the woodwork, while Kevin Lasagna’s goal was ruled offside.

Lasagna did break the deadlock when running on to a Rodrigo De Paul through ball to beat the goalkeeper one-on-one in the second half.

Tudor: 'Fiorentina asked for De Paul'

Udinese Coach Igor Tudor prepares for the Coppa Italia with Sudtirol and confirms Fiorentina “asked us for Rodrigo De Paul.”

Their campaign officially kicks off tomorrow evening against Sudtirol in the Coppa Italia Third Round.

“Everyone starts the season with hopes and ambitions, but there is also reality to deal with. It’s easy to talk, not so much to back it up with action,” said the Coach in his Press conference.

Coppa: Monza to face Fiorentina

Silvio Berlusconi’s Monza shocked Serie B side Benevento to set up a tie with Fiorentina in the Coppa Italia third round.

Monza won a seven-goal thriller, surviving a late penalty to beat Benevento 4-3, and face Fiorentina in the next round.

Feralpisalo, Pisa, Perugia, Salernitana, Venezia, Crotone, Spezia, Sudtirol, Cremonese and Imolese, meanwhile, all secured Serie A ties.

So did Chievo, although the Flying Donkeys needed a penalty shootout to avoid a giant-killing at the hands of third-tier Ravenna.

Coppa: Torino through to face Fiorentina

Torino beat Südtirol 2-0 in the Coppa Italia, earning a trip to Fiorentina in the Last 16.

The Serie C club were looking to join Virtus Entella in the next round, after their fellow third division side won at Genoa this evening.

Roberto Soriano opened the scoring for the Granata after 24 minutes on a Simone Zaza assist, but the visitors impressed with their hard-running style.

However, Simone Edera scored a late second to ensure Walter Mazzarri’s side their place in the next round and a trip to Florence.
