Maldini: 'If that's a penalty...'

Milan director Paolo Maldini protested the late Fiorentina equaliser and failure of VAR to intervene. “If this is a penalty, then I really don’t know what’s going on nowadays.”

Ante Rebic’s opener was wiped out by an Erick Pulgar spot-kick, awarded for Alessio Romagnoli’s challenge on Patrick Cutrone, although replays suggest he at the very least grazed the ball.

Iachini: 'Fiorentina could've won'

Beppe Iachini maintains Fiorentina “had the opportunities to win” their 1-1 draw with Milan, despite being down to 10 men, and explained his substitutions.

The deadlock was broken by Ante Rebic pouncing on a Martin Caceres error, Dalbert saw red and Erick Pulgar converted a controversial late penalty.

“We had prepared the game to do better earlier, quite frankly, and allowed Milan very few chances, catching them regularly offside.

Pioli: 'No doubt, not a penalty'

Stefano Pioli said Milan must “take responsibility” for losing control of the game against 10-man Fiorentina, “but there are no doubts, it was not a penalty.”

It was a match dominated by VAR, as Zlatan Ibrahimovic saw his sensational opener cancelled out for a handling offence, then Ante Rebic scored and Dalbert was sent off – originally a yellow card – for stopping a clear scoring opportunity.

Ronaldo equals Serie A goals record

Cristiano Ronaldo has scored for the 11th consecutive Serie A game, equalling the record set by Gabriel Batistuta and Fabio Quagliarella.

Ronaldo found the net against SPAL at the Stadio Paolo Mazza this evening.

Ronaldo had previously netted in 10 consecutive games, a run stretching from December 1 when he scored in the 2-2 draw against Sassuolo.
