Report: Mutu drops agent for Viola?

There are reports in Romania that Adrian Mutu blames his agent for the split with Fiorentina and wants to make up with the Viola.

The striker has been frozen out and legal action will be taken after he stormed out of training following a contract dispute.

Agent Giovanni Becali held a Press conference insisting the Fiorentina directors had repeatedly insulted Mutu during a meeting.

It has also been noted that while Becali claims there is “absolutely no chance” of staying in Florence, Mutu's rare interview suggested he wanted to remain.

Line-ups: Napoli look to Sosa

Jose Sosa has stepped in for the suspended Marek Hamsik as second-place Napoli welcome Fiorentina in the early kick-off.

The Partenopei are forced to do without Hamsik due to a ban, so Sosa takes the support role behind Ezequiel Lavezzi and on-form Edinson Cavani.

Fiorentina's injury problems continue to cause problems with Juan Manuel Vargas, Vlada Avramov, Cesare Natali, Alessio Cerci, Stevan Jovetic and Sebastien Frey absent.

Montolivo: Napoli not just Cavani

Riccardo Montolivo has warned his Fiorentina teammates that Napoli, Saturday's opponents, are not a one-man team. "We shouldn't just fear Edinson Cavani."

The Uruguayan has been a sensation at the San Paolo this season and scored a hat-trick of headers last Sunday against Juventus.

"We have to look to limit Cavani who is proving himself to be an extraordinary player, but we shouldn't just fear him," said the midfielder.

Miha tips Napoli for Scudetto

Fiorentina boss Sinisa Mihajlovic believes Napoli have what it takes to challenge for the Scudetto this season.

Napoli currently lie second in Serie A, just four points adrift of Milan at the half-way stage of the campaign.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow's match between the two sides, Mihajlovic said: "Napoli could really be the anti-Milan, especially if they continue playing like this.

"They have everything required to win the Scudetto, even if there is still a long way to go this season.

Agger 'considering Fiorentina offer'

Fiorentina have made an offer for Liverpool defender Daniel Agger, according to a FIFA agent, but he is haggling over wages.

“The Viola have put forward a contract proposal to Agger, offering him €1.5m, but he wants €2m per season,” FIFA agent Bernardo Brovarone told Lady Radio in Florence.

“Now we have to wait and see what Liverpool say about it.”

It is not the first time that Agger has been linked with a move this season.

Mihajlovic: 'Cavani is better than Ibra'

Fiorentina Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic believes Napoli striker Edinson Cavani is already better than Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The Uruguay international is Serie A's top scorer with 13 goals following his hat-trick against Juventus on Sunday.

"The best signing of the season until the weekend was Ibrahimovic, but after three goals he scored against Juve, Cavani has overtaken him," said Mihajlovic.

"He is the best player in the League and he is more decisive than Ibrahimovic.

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino says he intends to stay at the club for the rest of the season and then consider his future.

The 28-year-old Italy international has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus in recent weeks and also changed his agent, which only fueled speculation further.

"When you play for a team like Fiorentina it is normal to be wanted by other teams," Gilardino said.
