Paqueta floated by Benfica for Florentino

Reports are growing that Benfica have targeted Milan flop Lucas Paquetà, so could include Florentino Luis in an exchange deal.

The Rossoneri paid Flamengo €38.4m plus bonuses in January 2019, but the Brazilian midfielder has not lived up to expectations and was already on the market mid-season.

In order to avoid making a loss on the 22-year-old, Milan need to get at least €28m, which is looking increasingly unlikely in the current climate.

Fiorentina in for Paqueta?

Fiorentina are, according to La Repubblica, planning to make a move for Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta.

The 22-year-old has struggled to settle in Milan and has only contributed one assist in his 17 League games for the Rossoneri this term.

The Tuscan newspaper claims that Fiorentina are monitoring his situation at San Siro and has made him a third priority for the upcoming transfer market.

Milan struggle to find Paqueta buyer

Milan are desperate to find a buyer for Lucas Paqueta, but need to get at least €25m to avoid making a loss on the Brazilian.

According to Tuttosport, the 22-year-old is proving a huge problem for the San Siro hierarchy, with blame being passed around on who is responsible for the flop.

He cost €39m when signed from Flamengo in January 2019 and with bonuses that could climb to €45m.

After a promising first six months, Paqueta has practically disappeared from the squad, failing to make an impact with Marco Giampaolo or Stefano Pioli.

Kaka: 'Beautiful to see Ibra motivation'

Former Milan midfielder Kaka admires Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s motivation, and recalls his first goal in the derby, “a Rino Gattuso cross from the left, and a header from me!”

The 2007 Ballon d’Or winner gave a lengthy interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport ahead of the Milan derby this weekend, and talked about both sides of the city.

Kaka retired in 2017 at the age of 35, whilst Ibrahimovic is still playing at 38.

Pirlo: 'A very different Milan now'

Andrea Pirlo warns “this is a very different club to the old Milan” and gives his views on Stefano Pioli, Lucas Paqueta, Theo Hernandez, Suso and more.

The now retired midfielder told La Gazzetta dello Sport his views on the club where he spent 10 years, playing in 401 competitive matches.

“This is a very different club to the old Milan. Paolo Maldini and Zvonimir Boban are doing what they can, signing the players they could get, as there aren’t the same financial capabilities as the past,” said Pirlo.

Paqueta: 'I'm fine'

Milan midfielder Lucas Paqueta has commented on the rumours surrounding an exit from the club. “I’m fine, and I will continue to do my best.”

The Brazilian had been heavily linked with a move away from San Siro, having fallen down the pecking order this season.

However a deal never materialised in the January transfer window, and the midfielder took to Instagram to comment on the rumours.

“I speak personally, to thank all the messages I have received in the last few days and to clarify my true situation!” Paqueta wrote.

Fiorentina prepare Paqueta swoop

In a remarkable twist, Fiorentina have asked Milan for Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paqueta in the January transfer window.

The 22-year-old arrived a year ago from Flamengo for €38m plus up to €7m in performance-related bonuses.

However, he has barely featured lately and does not fit into Stefano Pioli’s 4-4-2 system.

Paqueta has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain and even Roma, but Fiorentina have suddenly emerged as genuine contenders.

Bernadeschi-Paqueta swap?

Rumours keep swirling around of a potential Federico Bernardeschi-Lucas Paqueta swap deal, despite denials from Juventus.

Bernardeschi has been tried out in various roles under first Max Allegri and now Maurizio Sarri without ever truly hitting form for the Old Lady.

The midfielder joined the Bianconeri from Fiorentina in the summer of 2017 for €40m, but Tuttomercatoweb speculates that time is running out for the 25-year-old to make his mark in Turin.
