Prandelli: ‘Give Sarri time’

Former Azzurri CT Cesare Prandelli urges Napoli to ‘give Maurizio Sarri time’ to get his ideas across.

The 58-year-old believes that continued negativity could begin to affect the new Vesuviani Coach and that he wasn’t employed for a team ‘in a hurry’.

“Napoli have changed, and not just a little bit,” Prandelli said to Il Mattino.

“Changes aren’t always painless, you often pay the price for having to adapt to new working methods, new systems and new ideas.

Former Italy CT Cesare Prandelli insists results are ‘the most important thing’, and clarifies some earlier comments.

The Azzurri won their two games over the international break, but received some criticism for only beating Malta and Bulgaria 1-0.

The pair meet in the Derby della Madonnina on Sunday, with both having invested heavily in new faces this summer.

“They are two teams who have been revolutionised, and two Coaches [Roberto Mancini and Sinisa Mihajlovic] who are winners,” Prandelli told MilanNews.

'No future for Azzurri, but Balo...'

International veteran Cesare Prandelli has mixed words on the Azzurri: 'I see no future for la Nazionale, but Mario Balotelli has really grown'.

The 58-year-old was at the helm of the Italian national team for the successful Euro 2012 expedition, in which he reached the final, and the disastrous World Cup 2014, which saw him crashing out at the groups.

In an interview with Radio Anch'io Sport, the Coach revealed a deep pessimism about the national team's prospects.

“It's hard to see a future for la Nazionale,” he said.
