Fiorentina hold Montella summit

Vincenzo Montella will meet Fiorentina President Andrea Della Valle today to discuss his renewal terms.

The Coach's campaign with the Viola impressed several onlookers but the friction with the supporters, particularly after the Europa League semi-finals, may point towards a summer exit.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the Coach and the President will meet today with a view to discuss the terms and conditions for a continued relationship.

Napoli: Upgrade Coach with UCL?

Napoli could look to Luciano Spalletti, Jurgen Klopp, Unai Emery or Cesare Prandelli if they reach the Champions League.

The Partenopei are resigned to the idea Rafa Benitez will leave when his contract expires next month to take over at Real Madrid.

Until now the replacement had seemed fairly certain – current Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.

However, Sky Sport Italia insist the situation is not so cut and dried, because there’s a big difference between finishing fourth and third.

Cassano blasts everyone

Antonio Cassano gave a typically forthright interview insulting most of Serie A, Brazil, Dubai, America and Sinisa Mihajlovic.

The 32-year-old striker is a free agent after terminating his contract with Parma due to unpaid wages, several months before the club went bankrupt.

“I took two months off, but I do miss football,” FantAntonio told Rai Sport show Dribbling.

“I’d like to come back in the summer. Of course I’d love another opportunity at Sampdoria, but I don’t think it’s possible.

Mazzarri to return to Napoli?

A shock return for Walter Mazzarri is one of Napoli’s options if, as expected, Rafa Benitez leaves at the end of the season.

The Spanish tactician is under fire after a disastrous run of form which has seen the Partenopei slip to sixth in the League as well as being eliminated from the Coppa Italia.

It was reported yesterday that Luciano Spalletti had been approached about taking over next season, and Corriere della Sera believes his is very much in the frame.

Prandelli for Napoli job?

Cesare Prandelli is the latest Coach to be heavily linked with the Napoli bench should Rafa Benitez walk away.

Benitez’s contract expires in June and he is widely expected to leave for a return to the Premier League or to take over at Paris Saint-Germain.

Report: Prandelli rejects Japan

Italian media claim Cesare Prandelli has turned down an offer to become Coach of Japan.

The former Italy and Galatasaray boss is currently out of work following his dismissal in Turkey.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Japanese Federation approached Prandelli to ask if he’d like to take over from Javier Aguirre.

“I am very, very honoured, but don’t have enough time to decide,” he is said to have replied.

Japan already found success with an Italian tactician, winning the Asian Cup under Alberto Zaccheroni.
