Prandelli demands Italy performance

Italy boss Cesare Prandelli has asked his side to prove their worth in their final Euro 2012 qualifiers.

The Azzurri have already ensured top spot in their group, but they face Serbia on Friday and Northern Ireland on Tuesday to wrap up their campaign.

Prandelli: 'Italy must win group'

Cesare Prandelli has no illusions that Italy “must win” their 2014 World Cup qualifying group.

The Azzurri were paired with Denmark, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Armenia and Malta in Group B during last night's Rio de Janeiro draw.

Trap praises pupil Prandelli

Giovanni Trapattoni is looking forward to meeting one of his old players when his Republic of Ireland team play Italy in a friendly tonight.

The 72-year old Coach worked with Italy boss Cesare Prandelli at Juventus and has nothing but praise for his former midfielder.

"Prandelli was my player, I have great affection for him and I wish him the best of luck for the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign," he said.

"But I am not wishing him luck against us.
