Benatia to Parma ‘a done deal’

Parma have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Medhi Benatia from Al-Duhail on loan with an obligation to buy if they gain Serie A survival.

The former Juventus and Roma defender is set to make Serie A return as Parma have reached an agreement to sign him on loan, reports Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Ducali will have an obligation to sign the player on a permanent deal if they gain Serie A survival this season.

D’Aversa urges Parma to make new signings

Parma coach Roberto D’Aversa urges the club to make new signings: ‘The sooner they arrive, the sooner we can gain survival.’

The Ducali picked up one point against Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium with the hosts’ midfielder Filip Đuričić who converted a last-gasp spot kick to rescue the Neroverdi.

“It is clear that the club must intervene,” D’Aversa told Sky Sport when asked about possible new signings in January.

The Neroverdi picked up one point against Parma and De Zerbi is happy with his side's performance.

Benatia considering Parma offer

Medhi Benatia is reportedly on his way back to Serie A for Parma, after two years in Qatar with Al-Duhail.

According to Sky Sport Italia, an offer has been made for the 33-year-old defender.

He is no stranger to Italian football, having played for Udinese, Roma and Juventus.

Benatia is said to be considering the proposal and will give his response over the next few days.

The Morocco international would bring valuable experience to Parma, as he has 153 Serie A games under his belt.
