“It is a defeat which will serve as a lesson to never lower our concentration,” Lichtsteiner wrote on his official Facebook page following the match.

“It is a defeat which hurts us a lot.”

Caceres to return for Juventus

Martin Caceres will return to the Juventus squad ahead of the Inter match, following his exclusion.

The Uruguayan defender crashed his Ferrari in Turin last month, and was over the legal drink-drive limit.

That led to a temporary suspension from first team activities, but Sky reports that the full-back will make his return ahead of the Inter match.

The return of the real Juventus

Juventus have resembled the walking wounded, but after recovering players from injury Luca Cetta expects the Bianconeri to start the climb up the table.

Immediate reactions weren’t encouraging. In some discomfort as he lay prone on the turf, Alvaro Morata was stretchered from the field. Initial speculation pointed to potentially a month on the sidelines.

The scenario echoed that of Claudio Marchisio last season, originally ruled out for at least six months following a knee injury picked up on Italy duty. That sparked a furore between Antonio Conte and his former employers. Fortunately for Juve, the midfielder was back in a matter of weeks.

‘Serie A at a good level’

Italy CT Antonio Conte believes Serie A is ‘at a very good level’ but doesn’t foresee a surprise winner.

A topsy-turvy start to the season has seen Fiorentina top the standings for the first time since 1999,  with Milan, Juventus, Roma and Napoli all lacking in consistency.

“The League is proving to be at a very good level,” Conte told assembled media during a Press conference at Coverciano.

“I think that in the end the fight to win it will be between the usual teams, though Fiorentina can cause problems.
