Report: Roma rejected for Ten Hag

Ajax have reportedly rejected an approach from Roma for Coach Erik ten Hag on the grounds of their botched negotiations for Hakim Ziyech.

According to De Telegraaf, Roma asked Ajax about the possibility of speaking to Ten Hag.

However, the newspaper writes the Dutch club were not prepared to negotiate with the Giallorossi as they are still annoyed over Monchi’s failure to conclude a deal for Ziyech last summer.

Juve in shock Sarri link

Tuttosport claims Juventus’ search for a new Coach has taken them to Maurizio Sarri, while Chelsea could replace him with Ajax’s Erik ten Hag.

According to the newspaper, Juve’s first choice Pep Guardiola will not leave Manchester City this summer.

That would have prompted the Bianconeri to scope out Sarri, who is ‘not considered untouchable’, despite his plea to stay at Stamford Bridge.

“Admittedly, 1-1 at home is not the result you hope for, but it is still a good result,” the Coach told Dutch television.

'Juve will feel Chiellini absence'

Ajax boss Erik ten Hag believes Juventus will ‘feel’ Giorgio Chiellini’s absence against his side on Wednesday.

Chiellini will miss the trip to Amsterdam with a calf injury, and Ten Hag urged his Ajax side to capitalise, having already thrashed Real Madrid and held Bayern Munich twice in the Champions League this season.

“Our focus is only on Juve,” he said at a Press conference.

Ajax threats for Juventus

Juventus face Ajax in the Champions League quarter-final on Wednesday, so Vilizar Yakimov takes a look at the most dangerous Dutch players.

It’s been a while since Juventus and Ajax faced each other in the latter stages of an European competition. In fact there have been just four games between the Old Lady and the Dutch club this century, as the two sides met twice in the Europa League in 2010 and had two more meetings in the Champions League group stage in 2004.
