Napoli: Bakayoko missed training

Napoli confirmed Tiemoue Bakayoko missed training due to illness ahead of the match against his former team, but Kalidou Koulibaly is back in full training.

The Partenopei announced Fernando Llorente and Bakayoko did not train with the team group today, due to illness.

The official statement from the club revealed Senegalese defender Koulibaly has returned from international duty and completed the full session with the rest of the team.

Eljif Elmas is also back in the squad as the Azzurri prepare for the match against League leaders Milan on Sunday.

Pandev sends Macedonia to Euro 2020

Genoa striker Goran Pandev has made history by scoring the goal that allows North Macedonia to beat Georgia in the play-offs and qualify for Euro 2020.

The 37-year-old was on target 56 minutes into the one-off clash at the Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.

Georgia had the better of the first half, but Macedonia took control after the break and made it count with Pandev, who finished with the outside of the boot.

Official: Napoli squad list for Real Sociedad

Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas have been included in Napoli’s squad list to face Real Sociedad. Tiemoue Bakayoko is also eligible to play.

Napoli are set to travel to Spain for their second Europa League game of the season.

The Azzurri lost their opening group stage match at the San Paolo against AZ Alkmaar last week.

Tiemoue Bakayoko picked up a minor knee injury against Benevento on Sunday but has recovered.

Zielinski and Elmas back in training

Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas returned to training with Napoli today for the first time since they tested positive for COVID-19.

The pair of midfielders had tested positive on October 1 and were finally given the all-clear on October 24.

They passed their medical tests with the Lega Serie A, the necessary step before they can be allowed to resume physical activity after the virus.

Both Elmas and Zielinski took part in training with the rest of the Napoli squad today, although not the full session.

Elmas and Zielinski free of COVID

Napoli have announced that Eljif Elmas and Piotr Zielinski have tested negative for COVID-19, so could potentially be available this weekend.

The pair of midfielders tested positive on the eve of their cancelled trip to Juventus, on October 2 and 3.

They had tested positive repeatedly over the last three weeks, but have now posted negative results.

Before being allowed to play in Serie A, they must first undergo a Lega Serie A sanctioned physical test to confirm there are no lingering complications from the virus.

Napoli: Lobotka negative for COVID-19

Napoli have officially announced Stanislav Lobotka has tested negative for COVID-19.

The Napoli midfielder’s test had to be reprocessed and the Partenopei have officially confirmed the Slovakia international has tested negative for coronavirus.

After having announced positive tests for Piotr Zielinski and Eljif Elmas, the rest of the squad has therefore tested negative for the virus.

Napoli: Elmas also has COVID

Napoli announce that a second player has also tested positive for COVID-19, as Eljif Elmas and Piotr Zielinski are out of the Juventus trip.

The Partenopei beat Genoa 6-0 last weekend and hours after that game, a massive outbreak of Coronavirus spread throughout the Genoa squad.

There are now 22 cases at the club between players and staff, many of whom played against Napoli last Sunday.

Angelovski: 'Elmas happy at Napoli'

North Macedonia CT Igor Angelovski has claimed that Eljif Elmas seems “very happy” at Napoli and pointed out that Gennaro Gattuso gave him “confidence”.

The 20-year old North Macedonia international arrived from Fenerbahce last summer and has collected 23 games, contributing one goal in the process.

He has already earned 18 caps for his country and his international coach has revealed that he keeps in touch with the starlet.

Serie A: One game for Pellegrini

Serie A announced that ten players are suspended for the upcoming fixtures this weekend, including Napoli’s Eljif Elmas and Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.

Eljif Elmas will miss the next match at the San Paolo against Lecce after picking up a yellow against Sampdoria on Monday night.

Lorenzo Pellegrini was sent off for two bookable offences in Giallorossi’s 4-2 defeat to Sassuolo last weekend and will miss the next game against Bologna.
