Thohir on Icardi and Candreva

Inter President Erick Thohir is pleased with the arrival of Antonio Candreva but wants to discuss Mauro Icardi’s future.

The Nerazzurri chief was first asked about club captain Icardi, who has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli.

“He is our captain, we want to continue working with him,” Thohir told Gazzetta dello Sport. “It’s what we have to talk about, because we are a family and we have to talk about it.”

Candreva: I always wanted Inter

Antonio Candreva is ‘happy and proud’ to have signed for Inter, adding he has always wanted to play for the Nerazzurri.

The 29-year-old heads to San Siro from Lazio and has signed a four-year contract with his new club.

“I am very proud and happy to be here,” Candreva is quoted as saying by Inter’s official website. “I have always wanted Inter and I feel great excitement to have arrived at the Nerazzurri.

“I thank Lazio for the seasons we had together and for having given me the chance to fulfil this dream.

Candreva: I’m almost Nerazzurro

Lazio’s Antonio Candreva admits he has almost completed his transfer to Inter.

The Biancocelesti midfielder has been at Stadio Olimpico since 2012 but is the subject of a reported €25m bid from the Nerazzurri.

Calcio News 24 state that the 29-year-old Italy international has already agreed personal terms with the San Siro outfit, with only a few details left to be ironed out between the two clubs before the transfer can officially be confirmed.

Candreva close to €25m Inter move?

Antonio Candreva is close to sealing a move to Inter from Lazio, according to reports.

The 29-year-old has been a Biancocelesti player since 2012 but is said to be strongly in favour of a switch to San Siro.

According to Il Messaggero, the midfielder is ‘one step away’ from signing for Roberto Mancini’s side in a deal worth €25m.

Candreva, an Italy international, would stand to earn €2.7m a year in addition to bonuses.

Italy: Insigne-Pelle for Azerbaijan

Italy are expected to start Antonio Candreva, Graziano Pellè and Lorenzo Insigne in a Euro 2016 qualifier with Azerbaijan.

It kicks off on Saturday at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).

Despite sitting out today’s training session with a swollen knee, Insigne is reportedly set for the starting XI in Baku.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Napoli talent will complete the trident attack with Candreva and Southampton hitman Pellè.

Candreva back for Lazio

Antonio Candreva will be available for Lazio when Frosinone visit on Sunday, the club doctor confirms.

The Italian international has not featured since spraining his ankle in the Europa League draw with Dnipro, but will be available for the weekend.

“Candreva has returned to the group,” Stefano Salvatori confirmed in an interview with Lazio Style Radio.

“The Coach will decide whether or not to call him, but there’s no problem from our side.”

Matri to miss Verona

Lazio striker Alessandro Matri will not be fit for the weekend trip to Verona, the club confirms.

The forward was surprisingly not named in the squad to face Genoa, with it later being revealed he is suffering from fatigue of the thigh muscles.

“Work continues for Miroslav Klose, Alessandro Matri and Antonio Candreva, but they will not travel to Verona,” club doctor Stefano Salvatori revealed, speaking to Lazio Style Radio.
