Serie B: Pillon leaves Cosenza

Serie B club Cosenza are forced to change coach during the shutdown, as Bepi Pillon announced he is leaving for “personal reasons” a month after taking the job.

Pillon was appointed on February 11 and only managed to oversee five games before Serie B ground to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It is also because of this crisis that Pillon is stepping down, as he wrote on the official club website that he was walking away for personal reasons.

Serie B: Cosenza sack Braglia

Serie B side Cosenza have officially sacked coach Piero Braglia and are expected to appoint Giuseppe Pillon tomorrow morning.

The Calabrian club sit in the relegation zone after just four wins, eight draws and 11 defeats this season.

A decision was made to change management after a shocking run of five consecutive defeats, during which Cosenza managed to score just twice.

Giuseppe ‘Bepi’ Pillon turned 64 at the weekend and is expected to take charge tomorrow.

Pillon leaves Pescara

Giuseppe Pillon has stepped down as Pescara Coach after they bowed out of the Serie B playoffs. 

The Delfini lost the second leg of their semi-final 1-0 to Verona on Sunday night after the first game ended goalless.

“I thank my players who gave everything, I thank the club who brought me here, especially director Giorgio Repetto,” Pillon said after the match.

“I’m sorry we couldn’t reach the playoff Final and, in particular, I’m sorry for the fans, whom I’ve always felt close to.
