Gattuso’s iron fist

Gennaro Gattuso speaks straight, both with Napoli fans and players and seems to have brought that change of mentality the club desperately needed, writes Ciro Di Brita.

It hardly comes as a surprise that Napoli boss Gennaro Gattuso expects his men to give 100%, as the World Cup winner was renowned for his grit and determination as a player.

The attitude of the Milan legend has had quite an impact in the Partenopei’s results so far this season. Napoli are six points short of table leaders Milan despite having been handed a 3-0 defeat by default against Juventus and docked one point.

Regrets grow stronger for Napoli

The excitement generated by a comfortable triumph over the league’s form side has been dampened by the Juventus controversy, writes Owen Diana.

That a 4-1 victory over one of Europe’s best outfits could be bittersweet would be inconceivable in normal circumstances, but the last few weeks have been anything but normal for Napoli. Saturday’s first-half destruction of La Dea highlighted how far the Southerners have come in recent months, but that impressive improvement has been tempered by the fallout from the club’s decision not to travel to Turin to face Juventus.

Gattuso ‘fed up’ of Juve winning

Former Milan player Gennaro Gattuso admits to being ‘fed up’ of Juventus’ domination of Italian football.

Crespo: 'I learned from Coaches'
