Paredes: 'Juve wanted me in 2011'

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes has revealed Juventus tried to sign him nine years ago, but his agent rejected the move.

The Old Lady have been linked with the Argentine in recent months and the 25-year-old, who has played for Chievo, Roma and Empoli in Italy, has claimed he was close to joining Juventus as a teenager.

In an interview with TNT Sport, Paredes said: “In 2011, a Juventus director tried to buy me and told me he wanted me as back-up for [Andrea] Pirlo.

Torino in for Krunic?

Torino are reportedly preparing to make another attempt to sign Milan midfielder Rade Krunic this summer.

The Granata were linked with the former Empoli man last summer, when Krunic eventually moved to the Rossoneri.

Tuttosport claims the new sporting director Davide Vagnati could prepare another pursuit for the Bosnia international, who has only played nine times in Serie A with the Rossoneri.

Napoli in for Empoli starlet?

Napoli are allegedly prepared to make a move for Empoli’s 18-year-old midfielder Samuele Ricci.

The youngster has played 21 times in Serie B this term and after the impressive campaigns of Ismael Bennacer at Milan and Hamed Traore at Sassuolo, the clubs are lining up to deal with Empoli patron Fabrizio Corsi.

Journalis Nicolò Schira claims the next in line for a move to Serie A could be Ricci, who has been linked with big clubs in recent months.

Empoli: 'Minister for Sport hates football'

Empoli President Fabrizio Corsi reiterates Serie B wants to complete the season in August, but Minister for Sport Vincenzo Spadafora ‘seems to hate football.’

The accusation comes after Spadafora stated again this morning that the Government is ready to declare an end to the football season unless a new medical protocol can be agreed.

Krunic: 'I cried when I signed Milan deal'

Milan midfielder Rade Krunic has revealed he ‘cried’ after signing with the Rossoneri and has praised the ‘extraordinary’ fans at San Siro.

The 26-year-old arrived from Empoli last summer and has played nine Serie A games for the Rossoneri this term.

Krunic has been out with injury since the start of February but revealed he has recovered and looks forward to resuming play after the forced break.

Corsi talks up Bennacer potential

Milan midfielder Ismael Bennacer ‘has the quality to become a great player’, according to his former President at Empoli, Fabrizio Corsi.

The Algeria international arrived from Napoli last summer and has played 20 Serie A games for the Rossoneri this season.

His former chief has followed the progress at San Siro and praised the 22-year-old, claiming he ‘doesn’t understand’ how Empoli were relegated with him, Sassuolo duo Francesco Caputo and Hamed Junior Traore and Napoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo in the side.
