Media watch: Dominant Ronaldo

Italian sports papers named Cristiano Ronaldo MOTM in Juventus-Roma while Marash Kumbulla was the worst player on the pitch at the Allianz Stadium.

The Old Lady beat Roma 2-0 thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo goal and a Roger Ibanez own goal.

The Portuguese star netted his 16th goal in 18 Serie A appearances and was named MOTM by Italian sports papers.

“Sarri would have paid to have this CR7,” wrote La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kumbulla denies Roma problems against big clubs

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla insists the Giallorossi have no problems against top clubs and reveals why he moved to the Capital in the summer.

The Giallorossi suffered a 4-1 defeat at Atalanta on Sunday and have failed to beat any top Serie A side so far this season.

“We struggled, but we faced a very strong team,” Kumbulla told Tele Radio Stereo.

Roma: Kumbulla negative for COVID

Marash Kumbulla has announced a negative test for coronavirus and the Roma centre-back can carry out the medical tests before his return.

The former Hellas Verona defender has announced on Instagram that he tested negative to COVID-19 and can now return to train at Trigoria after the required health check.

The 20-year-old, who has scored twice in eight competitive games for the Giallorossi, could be available for Paulo Fonseca already on Thursday in the Europa League.

Kumbulla: ‘Don’t underestimate Covid’

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla warns: ‘Don’t underestimate Covid’ as he reveals his girlfriend has also tested positive.

The former Verona man was diagnosed with Covid last week.

"Hello guys, I’m fine and I continue my quarantine period. Unfortunately my girlfriend Greta also tested positive at Covid-19,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Luckily, she is asymptomatic and so now there are two of us who will spend isolated days in full compliance with the rules and restrictions.”

Kumbulla also has COVID-19

Roma defender Marash Kumbulla confirms he has tested positive for COVID-19 after teammates Edin Dzeko, Federico Fazio, Davide Santon and Lorenzo Pellegrini.

The outbreak of Coronavirus is growing rapidly within the Roma camp.

Dzeko was the first to test positive last week, followed yesterday by Fazio, Santon and Pellegrini.

This afternoon, defender Kumbulla posted on Instagram that he too had tested positive for the virus.

Kumbulla: ‘I’ve got plenty to learn’

Marash Kumbulla claims he has got ‘plenty to learn’ after Roma’s 3-3 draw against Milan.

“It’s easy and nice for us to score from set pieces,” Kumbulla told Sky Sport.

The Albianian defender netted his second goal in a row at the Stadio Meazza allowing Roma to bring one point home.

“I can improve in everything. I made a mistake on the first goal we conceded, I could have avoid it, then luckily I made up by scoring.”

Kumbulla: ‘I dedicate my goal to Roma’

Marash Kumbulla scored Roma’s winner in their Europa League clash against Young Boys last night and revealed who he dedicates his goal to.

The former Verona man scored on his European debut.

"It was an incredible debut, we won thanks to my goal but I’m happier for the team’s win than for my goal,” he told Sky Sport.

"In the first half they pressed very high, we struggled a but it is normal, in the second half their pressing was less intense."

Marash Kumbulla said the Friedkins have ‘made a good impression’ at Roma and believes captain Edin Dzeko will ‘do well’ on Sunday against Benevento.
