Kumbulla: 'Dzeko is our captain'

Marash Kumbulla said the Friedkins have ‘made a good impression’ at Roma and believes captain Edin Dzeko will ‘do well’ on Sunday against Benevento.

The Giallorossi have picked up four points from three games, thanks to a 3-0 defeat by default in the first match of the season.

Kumbulla arrived from Hellas Verona during the summer and has quickly settled in his new surroundings and enjoys the ‘united’ dressing room at the club.

Fonseca: 'Roma need stability and investment'

Paulo Fonseca warns Roma need ‘stability’ and more investment to truly compete for silverware. ‘It’s challenging and motivating to work in Serie A.’

This is the Portuguese tactician’s second Serie A season and he spoke to newspaper Record in his homeland about the experience.

Report: Roma want to renew with Zaniolo

Roma are planning to offer Nicolò Zaniolo new terms at the Olimpico, after the injured attacker reportedly met with new patron Dan Friedkin.

Sky Sport Italia reveals the Italy international, who ruptured his ACL during Italy’s 1-0 win against Holland in the Nations League last month, met with the new owner in secrecy.

Friedkin reportedly told the 21-year-old he ‘will come back stronger than before’ and reassured the former Inter youth that he will be offered a new deal as soon as a new sporting director is in place at Trigoria.

Report: Roma close to New Balance deal

Roma are reportedly close to reaching an agreement with New Balance, who seem set to replace Nike as their technical sponsor.

The Giallorossi are looking for a new technical sponsor and La Stampa claims the Friedkin Group are close to agreeing terms with New Balance.

The report claims the American tycoon’s final decision is expected and the only thing missing for the agreement between the Capitoline and the US clothing giant.

The newspaper reveals the two parties are close to signing a four year deal, but the figures are still undisclosed.

Report: Totti close to Roma return

Friedkin: 'Champions aren't built overnight'

New Roma owner Dan Friedkin admitted The Friedkin Group has taken on ‘tremendous responsibility’ and said the investment was made out of ‘passion for the city, the team, the people and for football’.

Some weeks after buying the club from former patron James Pallotta, new owner Friedkin spoke to Roma’s official website.

“It was a wonderful, humbling moment, and we were delighted to join the AS Roma family,” the new owner said. “It was also a moment of great seriousness, as we have a tremendous responsibility.

Friedkin arrives on September 7

Roma’s new owner Dan Friedkin should arrive in Italy on September 7 and will stay to attend the team’s first game in Serie A 2020-21.

The Corriere della Sera claims the American tycoon will travel to Rome at the start of September to follow his new club as they prepare for the new season.

The new owner will remain in the Italian capital until September 19, in order to attend the team’s first match.

The fixture list for Serie A 2020-21 should be announced on September 1.

Dan Friedkin has officially completed the takeover of AS Roma from President James Pallotta. ‘Our shared vision is to favour a sustained, long-term investment approach rather than quick fixes of questionable durability.'

Dan Friedkin takes over Roma

Dan Friedkin became the new owner of Roma today, as he reportedly closed the deal with Jim Pallotta worth €591m.

Il Corriere dello Sport reveals that the respective lawyers of the two parties were connected between Rome, London and Houston to close the takeover.

Friedkin became the 25th President of the Giallorossi and in the headquarters of DLA Piper in Rome, the parties closed a deal worth €591m this afternoon.

Sky Sport Italia writes that after two hours, all the papers have been signed and Roma now belongs to Dan Friedkin.
