De Zerbi stands up for Turati

Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi defended goalkeeper Stefano Turati after the 18-year-old's mistake sparked the Cagliari comeback. “Football can exalt and annihilate you in a few days.”

De Zerbi’s side were 2-0 up against the Sardinians before two second half goals consigned them to a second successive 2-2 draw.

However, De Zerbi, speaking in his press conference following the game, was quick to defend his young 'keeper, who was making only the second start of his career.

De Zerbi: 'No pressure on Turati'

Sassuolo boss Roberto De Zerbi says last week’s hero Stefano Turati will remain in goal against Cagliari, but warns the 18-year-old “must keep his feet on the ground.”

Turati made his debut for the Neroverdi after Sassuolo lost their two first team goalkeepers to injury. The teenager then went on to deny Juventus a victory with a string of saves, and he will remain in goal against Cagliari.

De Zerbi: 'Sassuolo courage with Juve'

Sassuolo coach Roberto De Zerbi explained his tactical adjustments in a 2-2 draw with Juventus. “You need courage and to accept risks.”

The Neroverdi had previously lost all six Serie A trips to the Allianz Juventus Stadium, but had been 2-1 up here until a Cristiano Ronaldo penalty.

“You need courage when playing here, otherwise you’re dead before kick-off,” De Zerbi told DAZN.

Turati: 'I can't believe it!'

Sassuolo teen Stefano Turati was stunned to make his Serie A debut in a 2-2 draw with Juventus, making a great save against Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 18-year-old was thrown into the fray in Turin due to an injury crisis ruling out Gianluca Pegolo and Andrea Consigli.

“I honestly don’t have the words! So many emotions, it all happened so quickly and I never expected this. It was an extraordinary sensation and an incredible day for me,” he told DAZN.
