'Totti wants to come to Boca'

Francesco Totti could be reunited with ex-Roma teammates Daniele De Rossi and Nicolas Burdisso for the Superclasico between Boca Juniors and River Plate.

Burdisso [pictured] is currently sporting director at Boca and recently helped broker De Rossi’s arrival on a free transfer after he ended his 19-year-old association with Roma.

“Totti called me: he wants to come to La Bombonera to watch the match,” the former Argentina defender told CNN.

“He wasn’t the only one though: many want to come here to Buenos Aires.”

Wanda: 'I had Icardi ace up my sleeve'

Wanda Nara insists there was a strategy behind Mauro Icardi’s last-minute move from Inter to PSG. “If I waited until the last moment, it’s because I had an ace up my sleeve.”

The forward maintained all summer that he loved Inter and did not want to leave, rejecting transfers to Napoli, Roma, Monaco and more.

He even took legal action against the club, demanding €1.5m in compensation and immediate reintroduction to complete training sessions.

Di Biagio: 'I did not fail with U21s'

Gigi Di Biagio insists he “did not fail” as Italy Under-21 Coach and is looking for a new job, while evaluating Daniele De Rossi and Mario Balotelli moves.

The tactician was at the helm of perhaps the strongest Azzurrini squad in years, but didn’t get beyond the group stage in the European Under-21 Championship this summer.

“That particular tournament was probably a failure, but not the overall work I did over the years in charge of the Under-21 team,” insisted Di Biagio on Sky Sport Italia.

De Rossi goal not enough for Boca

Daniele De Rossi marked his Boca Juniors debut with a goal, but it was not enough as they crashed out of the Copa Argentina.

De Rossi was handed his first start for Boca on Tuesday evening against Almagro.

The former Roma midfielder made an instant impact, heading his side into the lead on 28 minutes, before being booked and receiving a standing ovation as he was substituted off in the second half.

Just five minutes after he left the field at La Bombonera, however, Almagro equalised and Boca went on to lose 3-1 in the subsequent shootout.
