Agent: 'Tevez to Boca in 2016'

Carlos Tevez’s agent confirmed he’ll go back to Boca Juniors, “but wants to respect his Juventus contract” until 2016.

The striker has made it clear he wants to end his playing days at his former club in Argentina, but on Friday President Daniel Angelici said they are “closer” to getting him than ever.

Angelici repeatedly said it’s up to Tevez to terminate his contract with Juve by mutual consent before the June 2016 expiry.

Tevez: ‘I’ll return to Boca’

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez has once more stated his desire to play for hometown club Boca Juniors again before retiring.

Tevez has plied his trade in Europe since moving to West Ham United in 2006, but the 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland in 2016.

The forward has previously stated his desire to return to his first professional club, and today has reiterated that.

“My whole family and I are Boca fans and I want to play in that shirt once again,” Tevez said to La Repubblica.

Cavani or Mata for Juventus?

Juventus are looking to sign either Edinson Cavani from PSG or Manchester United’s Juan Mata if Carlos Tevez leaves.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the Bianconeri are working out a contingency plan if Tevez decides to terminate his contract by mutual consent a year early to join his beloved Boca Juniors.

The striker has already said he’ll go back to his old club when the contract expires in June 2016 anyway, so forward planning is required.

Angelici has also made no secret of his intention of bringing Tevez to Boca sooner rather than later.

“If Tevez can’t terminate his Juventus contract by mutual consent first, then he will stay on in Turin until June 2016,” President Angelici told Radio La Red in Argentina.
