Barella: English football 'most beautiful'

Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella has distanced himself from Inter and admitted that English football is ‘the most beautiful’.

Sport Mediaset reported on Thursday that Inter were pressing to sign Barella, but the 22-year-old seems to be holding out for a Premier League side instead.

“There are three games left, and I want to give my all in them,” he told Radiolina.

Zola: 'Foreign Coaches help in England'

Chelsea assistant manager Gianfranco Zola believes Maurizio Sarri is among foreign Coaches who brought “new ideas and ways of playing” to English clubs.

The Stamford Bridge side are in the Europa League semi-final this evening against Eintracht Frankfurt, while Arsenal take on Valencia.

There could be an all-English Europa League Final, but there already is that scenario in the Champions League, where Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur after dramatic comebacks.

'Poch & Klopp would've been killed!'

Roberto Mancini claims Mauricio Pochettino and Jurgen Klopp ‘would’ve already been killed’ in Italy.

Pochettino and Klopp have been praised for establishing Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool as two of England’s top-four sides in recent years, although neither Coach has yet to win a trophy with their respective clubs.

“We exaggerate things in Italy,” continued Mancini to Tutto Convocati, accusing his country of not being patient enough.

Sarri charged by FA

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri has been charged by the FA for his role in a touchline brawl against Burnley.

It had been alleged that Sarri was called a ‘s*** Italian’ by Burnley coaches during the 2-2 draw on Monday.

However, the FA has found the former Napoli Coach guilty of ‘misconduct’ as he was sent down the tunnel.

The 60-year-old has until 18:00 BST on Friday to respond to the charge.

Sarri targeted for being Italian?

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri was reportedly called a ‘s*** Italian’ by Burnley members of staff during Monday’s 2-2 draw in the Premier League.

Sarri was sent down the tunnel by officials towards the end of the match, with Daily Mail eyewitnesses explaining how he had become ‘incensed’ with Burnley coaches after they insulted him with the remark. 

“Maurizio is very frustrated so would prefer not to come over here,” assistant Gianfranco Zola said after the game.

Juve in for Sessegnon?

Juventus have reportedly joined the race to sign Fulham and England starlet Ryan Sessegnon.

According to the Express, Juve are ‘ready to do battle’ with Tottenham Hotspur, who are considered the favourites to sign the 18-year-old.

The newspaper adds Fulham want ‘around £40m (€46m) for the left-sider, who scored 16 goals in the English second tier last season.

He has managed just two strikes for the Cottagers this term as they were relegated from the Premier League but has provided six assists.

Napoli look at Trippier

Tottenham Hotspur and England right-back Kieran Trippier is reportedly of interest to Napoli, but they could face competition from Manchester United.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio’s website, the Azzurri have earmarked the 28-year-old as a potential target for the summer.

Trippier has played 33 times for Spurs this season and has represented his country on 16 occasions.

Lazio defender Luiz Felipe has reportedly caught the eye of Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks.

According to the Daily Mail, Tottenham Coach Mauricio Pochettino is looking at Luiz Felipe due to concerns over the long-term future of Toby Alderweireld.

The 22-year-old has an Italian passport and recently turned down the opportunity to represent the Azzurri at Under-21 level as he is waiting for a call-up to the Brazil squad.

Italian teams ought to entertain

Italian football’s precipitous decline has left despondent those of us who grew up on Milan derbies, jaw-dropping fantasisti, and thrilling Scudetto races.

Undoubtedly, the main reasons for this fall are the Calciopoli scandal of 2006 and Italy’s weak economy. The two combined to leave Serie A in the wake of the ascendant Premier League as well as La Liga, both of which were starting to capitalise on lucrative broadcast deals. As Serie A has rebuilt itself from those ashes, one obstacle to reclaiming its former glory has been a comparatively dull style of play.
