Swansea boss Guidolin in hospital

Swansea City manager Francesco Guidolin has been admitted to hospital with a chest infection, so misses the game with Arsenal.

The former Udinese and Palermo Coach was due to sit on the bench for tonight’s Premier League match.

According to a club statement, he was suffering from flu for a week and did not respond to medical treatment, so has been referred to a hospital in London.

“The specialist felt that the best course of action was for Guidolin to remain in hospital for a few days to receive further treatment.

Serie A is world's second best

Serie A is the second strongest league in the world for two years running, announced the IFFHS, with the Premier League in seventh.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics has been calculating the strength of leagues since 1991 on the basis of all national, continental and intercontinental results.

Spain’s Liga retains first place, above all as Barcelona won the Treble and the Club World Cup in 2015, with Sevilla retaining the Europa League.

Italy co-efficient closing on England

Italy continue to close the gap on England in the race for a fourth Champions League spot.

Serie A sides currently have only the top two entering the Champions League group phase directly, plus a third that goes into a preliminary round.

The Premier League has the top three straight into the groups and a fourth into the play-offs.

In order for Italy to take that fourth place off the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign, they needed to chip away at the co-efficient.
