ADL: Serie A no worse than PL

Aurelio De Laurentiis claims Serie A is “no worse off” to the Premier League but warns it must use its English rival as an example.

The Premier League has become the world’s most marketable League since the turn of the millennium, positioning itself as the most competitive, profiting from huge TV rights deals and – most importantly in De Laurentiis’ eyes – being played out at new stadia.

“The Premier League is the pilot League,” the Napoli President told Corriere dello Sport.

Official: Palace appoint De Boer

Crystal Palace have appointed former Inter boss Frank de Boer as their new manager on a three-year contract.

It marks De Boer’s first managerial position since his ill-fated 85 days in charge of Inter, which came to an end last November.

“I am thrilled to be appointed as manager of Crystal Palace Football Club,” he told Palace’s official website, prior to his presentation on Monday.

Mazzarri: 'Spain or Portugal next'

Walter Mazzarri explains he left Watford because the club “did not share the same ambitions,” but would now like to experience Spain or Portugal.

The Coach had signed a three-year contract, but parted company by mutual consent after just one season in the Premier League.

Mazzarri was pilloried in the media for continuing to work with the aid of a translator in the locker room and during Press conferences.

Ranieri 'hands EPL baton to Conte'

Claudio Ranieri is “proud to hand over the baton of the Premier League” to Antonio Conte at Chelsea. “From one Italian to another.”

Last night the Blues beat West Bromwich Albion 1-0 with a late Michy Batshuayi goal to secure the title.

Following in the footsteps of Leicester City, Conte is the fourth Italian Coach to win the Premier League after Roberto Mancini, Carlo Ancelotti and Ranieri.

Conte: 3-4-3 changed season

Antonio Conte claims his switch to a 3-4-3 formation “changed” Chelsea’s fortunes en route to the Premier League title on Friday night.

Consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Liverpool in mid-September prompted Conte to adopted his tried-and-tested 3-4-3, resulting in him becoming the fourth Italian after Carlo Ancelotti, Roberto Mancini and Claudio Ranieri to be crowned an English champion.

“Thank you, thank you. this is a great achievement for the players,” he told Sky Sports after the 1-0 win at West Bromwich Albion.

Inter prepare for English exodus?

As many as seven players could leave Inter for the Premier League this summer, reports Tuttosport.

According to Tuttosport, Andrea Ranocchia, Davide Santon, Yuto Nagatomo, Jeison Murillo, Eder, Marcelo Brozovic and Ivan Perisic form the septet that may be headed for England.

Ranocchia’s performances have helped Hull City out of the relegation zone in the English top flight, and the defender “has attracted the attention” of bigger sides in the division, although Inter are holding out for €12-15m.

Conte clarifies Chelsea-Juve comparison

Antonio Conte wanted to clarify he is “proud of the extraordinary victories with Juventus” and Chelsea is a great achievement because it’s his first experience abroad.

The former Bianconeri and Italy Coach caused controversy when he was asked in a Press conference if winning the Premier League would be his greatest achievement and he replied that it would.

Conte: 'Chelsea my greatest achievement'

Antonio Conte claimed winning the Premier League would Chelsea would be a greater achievement than three Scudetti at Juventus.

The former Italy tactician made the comments in a Press conference ahead of tonight’s game against Southampton.

He was asked if securing the Premier League at his first attempt would be his greatest achievement.

“Yes, for sure. For me, for the players, for the club,” replied Conte.

“To win the title in England is a great achievement. To win in England these days is not easy.

Ranocchia: ‘Hull? We’ll see…’

Andrea Ranocchia is happy at Hull City, but admits “it’s impossible to predict” if he’ll join permanently from Inter.

The centre-back joined the English Premier League side on loan in January, and despite being a centre-back he’s managed two goals and two assists in 11 games.

Marco Silva’s side are currently just two points outside the relegation zone, and the Italian international gave an update on his English experience to Radio 24.
