2. Bundesliga blocked by new COVID-19 cases

The 2. Bundesliga plans to resume the season have immediately hit problems, as Dynamo Dresden announced another two COVID-19 cases, so the whole squad must go into quarantine.

It was announced on Thursday that the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga (German equivalent of Serie A and B) seasons would resume from Saturday May 16.

That same day, Dynamo Dresden were allowed to begin full contact training, as the only player who tested positive had been in quarantine since May 3 anyway.

Pagliuca: 'United wanted me'

Former Inter hero Gianluca Pagliuca has revealed former President Massimo Moratti blocked a possible move to Manchester United in 1997.

The former Italy international helped Inter win the UEFA Cup in 1997-98 and kept 82 clean sheets in his 234 matches for the Nerazzurri between 1994 and 1999.

But the retired shot stopper has revealed he had been able to join the English Premier League twice but was happy to remain at San Siro when the superstars arrived in Milan.

Mkhitaryan message 'fake news'

Agent Mino Raiola quashed 'fake news' reports regarding a message from Arsenal loanee Henrikh Mkhitaryan, allegedly asking for a move to Roma.

Il Corriere dello Sport claimed the Giallorossi playmaker hopes to remain in Italy and had sent a message to his owners in London asking of them to find an agreement with Roma.

The report also claimed the Gunners have lowered their asking price to around €10m for the Armenia international, but Raiola hits out at the story and brands it as ‘unacceptable fake news’.

Uncertain times for Moses

Chelsea loanee Victor Moses faces an uncertain future as the price tag of €12m exceeds what Inter are willing to offer for the Nigerian.

Coach Antonio Conte reunited with his former pupil at Stamford Bridge and the loan deal signed between the Blues and the Nerazzurri included an option to buy the player this summer.

Moses, who arrived on loan in January, has played seven matches in all competitions since his transfer to San Siro, contributing one assist in the process and helping Inter to the last 16 of the Europa League.

Paratici: 'Fewer clubs would pay for Pogba'

Juventus director Fabio Paratici suggests the post-coronavirus transfer market will be ‘creative and elastic,’ explaining why Paul Pogba cannot ask for Cristiano Ronaldo’s salary.

When the football does resume, it’s likely transfer valuations will drop from the peak that had been reached in recent years.

“I wasn’t making a proposal, it was just a consideration that the transfer market would be more like the NBA,” Paratici told Sky Sport Italia.

Bundesliga protocol sets example for Serie A

The main sticking point over the Serie A medical protocol is what happens if a player tests positive for COVID-19, as Italy and Germany have contrasting approaches.

The Italian Government’s scientific committee rejected the protocol put forward by the FIGC, considering it ‘insufficient,’ so negotiations are in progress to modify it.

According to Sky Sport Italia, the biggest issue up for debate is what to do if and when a player tests positive.
