Giroud happy to stay at Chelsea

Inter target Olivier Giroud has revealed that he wants to extend his deal at Chelsea after a “difficult” January month with transfer speculation.

Giroud seemed destined to be on his way out of the doors at Stamford Bridge and had been linked with both Lazio and Inter in Serie A, reportedly having agreed on a deal with the latter.

He targeted regular playing time ahead of Euro 2020, hoping to convince France CT and former Juventus midfielder Didier Deschamps that he deserved a place in the squad.

Ancelotti fined for referee row

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has been fined £8,000 for confronting the referee following a 1-1 Premier League draw with Manchester United.

The Italian tactician, who started the season at Napoli before he was sacked in mid-December, avoided a touchline ban by accepting the FA charge of improper conduct.

He was sent off during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United, furious that a late Everton goal was disallowed using VAR.

Infantino: 'Offside rule can evolve'

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirms the offside rule could “evolve to do something positive for attacking football,” but VAR is “only a problem” in the Premier League.

The introduction of VAR has meant offsides can be calculated with far greater accuracy than ever before, so goals can be disallowed for mere centimetres, leading to frustration for players, coaches and fans.

Mancini: 'Bring back the '80s and '90s'

Italy CT Roberto Mancini has claimed the lack of “resources” holds Serie A down and hopes to see big investors come to raise the level.

The Azzurri are preparing for Euro 2020 after a perfect 10 in the qualifiers and Mancini has brought the enthusiasm and joy back to the nation after a few rough years at the international stage.

But he points to Serie A, where most of his players ply their trade, and said the League must reach the heights from 40 years ago.

Young to be 'part of Inter history'

Ashley Young wants to use his “experience” to become “part of the great history” at Inter and claimed it takes “intelligence” to be versatile.

The former England international has played six times for the Nerazzurri since his move from Manchester United in January and scored his first goal for the club in a 2-1 defeat to Lazio in Serie A.

He has already appeared in both the Coppa Italia and the Europa League with his new club and has claimed that he has a great habit of “reinventing “himself during his career.

Fonseca wants Mkhi and Smalling

Paulo Fonseca has revealed that he would like Roma to tie both Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan to the club on permanent deals.

Giroud: 'I was about to leave'

Lazio and Inter target Olivier Giroud revealed that he was “about to leave” Chelsea this winter but will now “give my all” to make the Euro 2020.

The World Cup winner was targeted by two of the top three in Serie A this winter, as he was reportedly growing frustrated by the lack of opportunities at Chelsea this term.

Klopp: 'I won't come to Italy'

Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp has revealed that Milan legend Arrigo Sacchi has inspired his work but insisted he will have to learn Italian before considering a move to Serie A.

The German tactician won the Champions League with the Reds last season and this year they are currently 25 points above Manchester City at second, on their way to end a 30-year wait for the Premier League title.
