Villa offer €30m for Piatek

Aston Villa are stepping up their interest in Krzysztof Piatek, offering €30m (£25.5m) for the Milan striker.

Links between Villa and Piatek first emerged just hours ago, but Gianluca Di Marzio reports that has now turned into a formal bid.

Milan paid Genoa €35m for the Pole last January, and it is believed they will part with him if they receive an offer close to that.

Piatek or Defrel for Villa?

Aston Villa are reportedly considering moves for Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek and Sassuolo forward Gregoire Defrel this month.

A new No 9 is a priority for Villa following an ACL injury to first choice Wesley, and The Telegraph claims they are shopping in Serie A.

The pair have struggled for form in 2019-20, scoring a combined tally of five goals, although Defrel has also been out since November with an ankle injury.

Revealed: Conte's Chelsea payout

Chelsea have reportedly paid over €31m in compensation after sacking Inter coach Antonio Conte in 2018.

Conte won the Premier League in his first season in charge of the Blues but was eventually sacked to make way for Maurizio Sarri at Stamford Bridge.

Despite following up the League success in 2016-17 with the FA Cup trophy the following year, Conte’s relationship with the club seemed to have turned sour.

Boga: 'I feel better now'

Jeremie Boga said he’s still “in touch” with his old teammates at Chelsea and has revealed he feels "much better" at Sassuolo after "missing" the time at Stamford Bridge.

The Ivorian midfielder came to Sassuolo from Chelsea in the summer of 2018 and has played 42 games during his first one and a half seasons at the MAPEI Stadium.

He grew up at the Blues and said it was difficult to leave the club, as he was sent on loan to Stade Rennais from Ligue1, Granada from La Liga and Birmingham in the Championship.

Cutrone close to Fiorentina

Patrick Cutrone is edging ever closer to a Fiorentina move after he was left out of Wolverhampton Wanderers’s FA Cup tie with Manchester United.
