Torino President Cairo in hospital

Torino President Urbano Cairo is in hospital with a fever after he was diagnosed with COVID-19, but doctors assure he ‘does not require oxygen.’

The 63-year-old publishing magnate was admitted to Milan’s San Paolo hospital on Friday morning suffering from COVID symptoms.

A statement was released by the hospital confirming Cairo has ‘a fever that is not too elevated and does not require oxygen.’

He has tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing further tests.

Verona's Gunter free of COVID

Hellas Verona confirm defender Koray Gunter has now recovered from COVID-19 and could be available for Monday’s game with Benevento.

Serie A COVID protocol simplified

The Italian Football Federation has changed the COVID-19 protocol with more rapid tests and shorter periods of isolation.

It was announced on the official FIGC website that the modifications have been made to facilitate the completion of the season in Serie A, B, C and women’s football.

They will all have access to rapid COVID-19 tests, which give results both 48 hours before games, but can also be done the same day as a match if there are some positive cases in a squad and his teammates need the all-clear.

Parma: Two players reinfected

Parma have announced two players have become ‘reinfected’ after testing positive for coronavirus for the second time ahead of the match against Inter.

The Crociati, who have been isolated in recent weeks due to infections of COVID-19, have announced more cases tonight.

“Parma Calcio 1913 announce that the last cycle of swabs gave a negative result for all members of the team group except for two players who tested positive,” the club wrote in a statement.
