There are few who would begrudge Gigi Buffon one more season. The iconic goalkeeper decided not to renew with PSG this summer and instead wants to look for pastures new to ply his trade, even at his ripe old age. His agent has confirmed that he is looking through the many offers he already has, but it would be no surprise if he took his time. Despite his status as one of the best goalkeepers the world has ever seen, there are still reasons for him to be careful.

Agent: 'Buffon won't retire yet'

Gigi Buffon “has no intention of retiring and hasn’t made a decision. Aside from Juventus, he has Carrarese, Genoa and Lazio in his heart,” said his agent after quitting PSG.

The goalkeeper announced today he had been offered a contract extension by Paris Saint-Germain, but turned it down, as he wanted a return to Italy after just one year in France.

Maccarone returns to Italy

Massimo Maccarone is back in Italy after a spell in Australia with Brisbane Roar, signing for Lega Pro side Carrarese.

The striker turns 39 in September, but is still going strong and eager to continue his playing career.

Maccarone scored 10 goals with five assists in 29 competitive games for Brisbane Roar.

Lega Pro (third division) side Carrarese announced he had signed a one-year contract and returns to Italy after leaving Empoli in the summer of 2017.

Buffon: ‘Focused on last two years’

Gigi Buffon admits he’s not sure what he’ll do after he retires, as he’s focused on the last two years of his career.

The Juventus and Italy captain will retire after the 2018 World Cup in Russia, but doesn’t know if he’ll become a Coach.

“For now I’m focused on these [last] two years of my career,” Buffon told Corriere della Sera.

“I want to finish at the top as I’m doing. Then there are family activities

"There will be time in the future to evaluate new opportunities and initiatives.

Official: Napoli sign Gnahoré

Napoli have signed Eddy Gnahoré from Carrarese, and immediately sent him to Carpi on loan.

The 22-year-old began his career in France and England, playing for the youth teams of Birmingham City and Manchester City.

“SSC Napoli announce the permanent signing of Eddy Gnahoré from Carrarese,” the Partenopei confirmed in a statement.

“The club simultaneously announces that his move, on a two-year loan to Carpi. The French-Ivorian footballer was born on 14 November, 1993.”

Carrarese: 'Gnahore to Napoli'

Carrarese confirm they have agreed to sell midfielder Eddy Gnahore to Napoli, but he could join Carpi on loan.

The 22-year-old Frenchman of Ivorian origin previously played for Manchester City and Birmingham youth teams.

This season he has scored three goals and provided one assist in just 12 Lega Pro games.

“The proposal arrived this morning from Napoli. We were hoping for a little more, but this is fine,” Carrarese director of sport Sandro Federico told CalcioNapoli24.it.

Torino loan out Gyasi

Torino have officially loaned out Ghanaian youngster Emmanuel Gyasi to Lega Pro side Carrarese.

The 21-year-old will be expected to defend the Granata's left wing when he returns next year.

The transfer was made official by Torino with a statement on their site.

Buffon sells Carrarese

Gigi Buffon has sold 70 per cent of Lega Pro club Carrarese Calcio to new investors.

The Juventus goalkeeper bought his hometown club and coaxed it back into Italy’s third tier.

He initially invested in 2010, then gradually bought up more shares to become sole owner in 2012.

His family company, GVG Immobiliare, is represented by Gigi and his father Adriano Buffon.

Today they sold 70 per cent of the shares to Roman investor Raffaele Tartaglia.

Buffon will continue to hold 30 per cent of Carrarese shares.

Buffon walks away from Carrarese

Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon is ‘disappointed and saddened’ after giving up ownership of Carrarese.

The Italy captain is from the town of Carrara, and invested in the local club in 2010, before becoming owner in 2012, but has decided to walk away.

“June 30 will by my last day as patron of the Tuscan club,” Buffon announced in a statement.
