Lazio investigation gathers evidence

According to news agency Ansa, authorities have collected evidence related to the Lazio COVID-19 swabs at the Formello training ground and laboratory in Avellino.

An investigation was launched after three Lazio players – Ciro Immobile, Lucas Leiva and Thomas Strakosha – repeatedly tested negative in their internal tests, but positive for UEFA.

Immobile and Leiva miss Juventus

Ciro Immobile, Thomas Strakosha and Lucas Leiva left the Lazio training ground today, so seem to be out of tomorrow’s match with Juventus due to inconclusive COVID-19 tests.

According to Lalaziosiamonoi.it and Sport Mediaset, Immobile, Strakosha and Leiva were spotted leaving the training ground just before today’s session.

They had all tested positive for COVID-19 in the UEFA exams ahead of Champions League games against Club Brugge and Zenit, but negative for last week’s Serie A fixture with Torino.

Gagliardini and Radu tests 'inconclusive'

Roberto Gagliardini and Ionut Radu provided ‘inconclusive’ COVID test results, so the Inter pair need to be retested ahead of the Atalanta game.

The situation remains in flux, after it was announced via a statement that Inter goalkeeper Daniele Padelli had tested positive.

Inter goalkeeper Padelli has COVID

Inter goalkeeper Daniele Padelli has tested positive for COVID-19, confirms the club with a statement.

The tests were performed as per protocol ahead of tomorrow’s Serie A match against Atalanta.

The Nerazzurri shot-stopper is ‘totally asymptomatic’ and will remain in self-isolation.

“FC Internazionale Milano can announce that Daniele Padelli has tested positive for Covid-19 following a test conducted ahead of tomorrow afternoon's fixture against Atalanta.

Cristian Zapata positive for COVID

COVID-19 has returned to the Genoa squad, as defender Cristian Zapata tested positive on Friday.

A statement released by the club this afternoon confirmed Zapata had tested positive with a swab taken on November 6.

This means he will miss this weekend's Serie A match with Roma.

The Colombia international was not one of the 22 people – including 17 players – who contracted the virus last month.

They had all made a full recovery ahead of last week’s 1-1 draw with Sampdoria.

Mancini hopes for Nations League all-clear

Italy coach Roberto Mancini is positive for COVID-19, so his assistant Alberigo Evani will be on the bench against Estonia, but he hopes to return for the Nations League.

The CT tested positive yesterday, as confirmed by a FIGC statement, and is self-isolating at home.

He is asymptomatic, so it’s hoped he can make a quick recovery and test negative in time to sit on the bench for the Nations League fixtures.

Verona President Setti has COVID

Hellas Verona President Maurizio Setti has tested positive for COVID-19 and has some symptoms, announced the club.

Verona are due to face Milan on Sunday at 19.45 GMT.

A statement released by the Serie A club confirmed Setti had tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday.

He has ‘some light symptoms’ and is already self-isolating in his home.

Meanwhile, Torino President Urbano Cairo returned home yesterday after several days in hospital with COVID-19 symptoms.
