Romagnoli: 'Aggressive Lille like Verona'

Milan captain Alessio Romagnoli said the defeat to LOSC Lille in the Europa league will ‘certainly be useful’ against Hellas Verona this weekend.

The Rossoneri’s unbeaten run was stopped by Lille, who picked up a 3-0 win at San Siro on Thursday thanks to a hat-trick from Yusuf Yazici.

Romagnoli insists Milan must look at the first defeat since March when they analyse Sunday’s opponents.

Juric: 'Zlatan surprised everyone'

Hellas Verona coach Ivan Juric said Milan forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘surprised everyone’ and praised Stefano Pioli’s style of play.

Verona haven’t lost in four games, including a win in the Coppa Italia on penalties against Venezia, and come from a 3-1 win against Benevento in the last round.

“If we talk about the last one, there have been positive moments and very negative moments as a performance,” Juric said at a press conference.

Verona: Gunter out with hamstring injury

Hellas Verona must cope without Koray Gunter against Milan, as the defender has suffered a hamstring injury.

After Ronaldo Vieira’s injury, the Gialloblu have further bad news ahead of the big game against the Rossoneri.

The German centre-back has played four times in Serie A this term and Verona confirmed he will be out against Milan with a ‘first-degree muscle injury to the hamstring’.

Benevento lose Tuia for a month

Benevento player Alessandro Tuia is out of action for at least a month after undergoing surgery on facial fractures.

The 30-year-old defender sustained the injury during the final minutes of Benevento’s 3-1 defeat to Hellas Verona on Monday evening.

A statement released by the club confirmed he went under the knife today in Rome’s Villa Mafalda clinic.

The surgery reduced the fracture to the left cheekbone and connection to the jaw.

“The necessary time for an optimal recovery is one month.”

Serie A Week 7 referees

The AIA has announced the referees for Serie A Week 7, with Daniele Doveri given Atalanta-Inter and Davide Massa at the whistle when Lazio host Juventus.

Doveri will oversee his third match in Serie A 2020-21 when the Orobici host the Beneamata in Bergamo on Saturday and is not an unfamiliar face for either side.

Atalanta have won 11 of the 22 games with Doveri at the helm, as Inter have mixed results when the 42-year-old from Volterra leads them out of the tunnel (Seven wins, five draws and six defeats).

Two-match ban for Caprari

Benevento’s Gianluca Caprari has been suspended for the next two Serie A games, while Fiorentina defender Lucas Martinez Quarta misses one match.

The former Sampdoria and Parma player was sent off during the 3-1 defeat to Hellas Verona on Monday night and has been suspended for two games.

The Disciplinary Commission has given him two-matches out after the 27-year-old insulted the match officials in Verona.

Verona's Gunter free of COVID

Hellas Verona confirm defender Koray Gunter has now recovered from COVID-19 and could be available for Monday’s game with Benevento.

It kicks off on Monday at 19.45 GMT, click here for a match preview.

Gunter had tested positive on October 11 and was in isolation for three weeks.

A statement released this morning by the club states that Gunter has now tested negative for Coronavirus.

Verona duo suffer strains

Hellas Verona announce that Marco Davide Faraoni and Kevin Rüegg have suffered muscular injuries.

The club released a statement noting that Faraoni has sustained a Grade I strain of the soleus muscle in his left calf.

As for Swiss international Rüegg, he has suffered a Grade II lesion to the femoral bicep in his left thigh.

The recovery time for the two players has not yet been calculated, as their progress will be evaluated on a daily basis.
